Some new things

Pin It Now!

My mom and I love the same things. She has been passing down some of her things to me over the last few years. Lucky for me, my brother and sister don't like the same things that my mom and I do! Last weekend my mom brought me some more goodies from her home. Here are just some of them. This beautiful old linen and lace table cloth and the pitcher and glass set.

My mom bought this pitcher set at a flea market when I was little so I remember it always being around our home when I was a kid.
The glass is all crackly and it is so beautiful! This table cloth is beautiful too. My mom doesn't remember when or where she bought it, but it was probably at a thrift store or a flea market. She has drawers and drawers full of vintage linen and lace, one more beautiful than the last. She said she has 3 similar to this one. One of them has large grape clusters on the lace trim.
I have my mother to thank for my love of these types of things!

Oh how beautiful! It's nice to have someone that shares your love for vintage things. My family doesn't understand why I like "old junk" so much. Thats what they call it anyway. I call them my vintage treasures. :)

Cindy,
Your table cloth is gorgeous. I can tell your children are grown. If that was at my house it would have a little hand print in the middle. =)

Cindy,
That is so nice that you and your mom love the same things. I got it from my grandma and love her dearly for it. My mom never did enjoy decorating or nesting is what I call it.

The simplicity of the glass set against the vintage white table cloth looks fantastic, straight away made me think of drinks on a lazy summers day. Thanks for letting me know about the user name on Rate my Space, that will be what it is, puzzle solved.

Lovely treasures, Cindy. I don't think I really developed a true appreciation of vintage items until only a few years ago--I suppose after my mom died. I ended up with some of her treasured things (a very old & beautiful crystal chandelier, various crystal pieces & stemware, many lace tablecloths, a Lenox flower collection etc.) but due to space constraints, I let the majority of her things be sold at the estate sale or go to Goodwill. Now I'm kicking myself for that decision. Hardly a day goes by that I don't think about something she had and say to myself, "I sure wish I had kept that!" Someday these vintage beauties will be even more precious to you--just because they once belonged to your mom.

HI Lynda, your flowers are just lovely..love your kitchen too. That you for mentioning the Endless Summer Hydrangea. I think I've heard of them, yet don't know if they are available in this area. That is something I really want to look for next year.
