First day of high school

Pin It Now!

School started on Wednesday and my daughter is now officially in high school...where did the time go? We were headed out the door and I made her come back in so we could get a picture of her first day of high school. Last week when she was at Freshman Orientation kids were coming up to her and asking her if she was really a freshman. I have to say that I was shocked to see how young some of those kids looked, they looked like 5th graders! I'm so used to seeing Lauren all the time that I forget she looks older than 14. She's tall too, almost 5' 9"

Speaking of looking older. Poor Beau is getting so many gray hairs around his mouth and nose. He's only 3 years old! He's sad because now that school has started Lauren isn't there to snuggle up to in the mornings when I leave for work.

My son Austin started high school this past Wednesday as well. Makes me want to cry. I miss the days when he was shorter than me and I could hold him against my chest and hug until he couldn't breathe. But as I'm only 5'1" - there aren't too many people in that category.

Where does the time go, anyhow? I can't believe my oldest is a freshman this year too. I hear that high school just flies by.

Good luck and best wishes to Lauren in her high school years! Sadly, it seems like they are over in the blink of an eye. My son, Liam, is a sophomore in college this year, and my daughter, Katie , a sophomore in high school. How did I get to be so old?!?

Where did the time go, is right! Shhhh, don't tell anybody...I just celebrated my 54th (ugh!)birthday on Wednesday but heck, it doesn't seem like that long ago I was in high school myself. Although ya'll are probably considerably younger since you have high schoolers, I'm sure you can still relate. Whether we like it or not, time waits for no one.

Time does go by fast doesn't it??? My son will be 23 in NOV!! It's hard to believe! AND my dogs are all getting those gray hairs, they grow old so much faster which I hate so much more I don't even like to think about it.

Your daughter is beautiful and I love the locket she's wearing, she has her Mother's romanic touch. ;)

Enjoy every second of your time with your daughter. Time just flies by. Our oldest is now 20 and in her third year of college. Our youngest is 13 and heading off Tuesday for the 8th grade. Sometimes I long for when they were younger. . . like when they thought everything I did was wonderful!!! Now I take the youngest one school shopping and embarrass her to death because I can't take the LOUD, LOUD, did I say LOUD music playing in Hollister!! LOL

Have a blessed day!!

Tell me about it! My oldest dd is turning 20 in a week and getting married in 38 days!! My youngest dd just got her driver's license this week. It seems like I blinked my eyes and now we're at this stage of their lives.

Your daughter is very pretty. For my baby daughter now 23 ha ha it's the opposite. She's 5'1" 100 lbs. People always ask what grade she is in HS. She gets so mad. Poor poochie they provide the smile we need when we get home at the end of the day.

The chandelier is fabulous. The apron you made is lovely. Just bought one for myself through Present PastCollections by Heather Bullard. The material is very romantic. My daughter just started her freshman year in high school...yes, where does the time go? Quickly, that is why we embrace beauty in the every day ordinary things that we bring into an extraordinary light.

Beautiful daughter!! Truly.

Time moves all too fast for us as parents but never fast enough for them!

Sweet Beau..our Kip started turning gray in the face early too. Our doxie was almost 12 when she began growing gray!

I hope Lauren will enjoy the new year and all the new experiences!

Hugs,
Sue

Truly enjoy this time Cindy, my daughter's in her last year of high school and I feel like two years ago I was in the kindergarten line with her! Your daughter has lovely hair, my daughter's hair is dark brown with blue streaks right now (it's naturally blond and very light blond I may add). I pay to have my hair her natural color now. Us Mom's are just happy our kids are happy, right? Love your ideas, we also are in a rental. Make the best of what you have and one day we'll have that dream of our own little house. You're inspiring. So happy to have found your wonderful ideas. Thanks for sharing!

I'm in the same boat...my youngest daughter, Sarah looks like that little 5th grader, in my eyes...I had our new Pastor's wife ask where she went to school(meaning college) or was she working? Sarah is 13 (birthday on the 29th of this month)and just started high school!
They grow up too fast!
