Garage Sale Finds

Pin It Now!

Saturday morning on my way back from the grocery store I decided to take the residential back streets rather than the main road...I have no idea why but it was fate. I drove right past a garage sale I would have missed if I had stayed on the main road. I found this beveled mirror for $5. I've been collecting mirrors at thrift stores to display on the stairway wall. When I first saw Kim's (Daisy Cottage) mirrors I knew I wanted to something like that. I started hanging them up a couple weeks ago knowing that I don't really have enough but figured that I just add more as I find them. The day after I hung them up I saw Manuela's (The Feathered Nest) post and she was doing the same thing! Here is the start of mine. Some are plastic that I painted white and antiqued, one is metal and the rest are wood. I don't think I paid more than $6 for any of them. Now I can't wait to find more. I just hope I'm not upstairs when the big earthquake hits or if I am that these mirrors stay on the wall!

I also found this Vera Bradley bag. I wanted a Vera Bradley bag for awhile now. Every time I check eBay there are so many people bidding on them. I was thrilled when I saw this for $5. It's blue and yellow...my favorite colors!

Pretty mirrors, look perfect how you have them hung.:) Great price on the lovely bag- super colors on it! I am trying to stay out of the thrift shops and away from garage sales- seeing such neat finds -I might have to cave in :)

Good for you! You did well at your sales this week. I love your grouping of mirrors, and that's such a fun thing to collect. The bag is very pretty, too...great colors!

I laughed when I read your earthquake comment; Memphis is on a large faultline, too, so anytime I hang things I try to think ahead to what would happen in a quake. Hence, nothing heavy over our beds. :)

Have a great week,

Andrea

Great mirrors and Vera Bradley bag.
Good finds. See it pays to take a different route home from the store.
I will check out that Susan Branch story and home page.
Thanks,

Wonderful lucky you! I'm so happy you took that route home. Kismet, for sure. That's a beautiful stairway. Mirrors add so much light and warmth and magic to a room, and you use them perfectly. Your house looks scrumptious! And I have wanted that very same bag on Ebay before, and you are right. Always a big lot of bids going on for it. Good work, Cindy.

The mirrors look wonderful going up the stairwell. I love that style as well. Mirrors open up spaces and the different types of frames make for such a nice place to linger and observe the styles and the contrasting finishes, etc. I am glad you had such a nice little trip, and found such goodies!

LOVE your mirror collection. I think I might just start one myself. And $5 is a great buy.

Also, your VB bag...a steal! No way that would go for so cheap in the south. Glad you got one. They are so pretty!
