I have a new love affair

Pin It Now!

My new love affair is with anything silver! I found this silver plated tray at the thrift store for $2.99. It was so tarnished but once I polished it, WOW...I LOVE it! I'm using it on my dresser right now to hold some jewelry and cologne. See the silver bracelet in the top left hand corner? My mom bought that at a thrift store when I was little. She gave it to me about 5 years ago. Every time I wear that bracelet, I get compliments. The rose on the right I bought at Michael's and then I hot glued a jewelry pin to the back. I sometimes wear it on the lapel of my black suit for a more feminine look.

Such a pretty tray, Cindy. I like silver too, but use more gold in my decorating. I sure like the way yours looks holding cologne & jewelry. Very feminine.

Cindy,
That is so funny. I started really liking silver about a year ago too.
I buy it at garage sales and thrift stores too.
I think it looks so pretty just sitting out. Your tray looks great!

I LOVE the tray. The scrolling of the edges is romantic. I am with mrs. g, the arrangement is very well done.

I also developed a love of silver a few years ago. It's amazing how inexpensive one can purchase silver for at thrift shops and garage sales.

I find usually if it is not pitted, I can get it looking perfect with the MAAS silver polish.

I had to smile as I have my perfume on a silver tray very much like that one AND I have a couple silk flowers on it. :)

That tray is beautiful and I love the rose.

I, also, love collecting thrifted silver. How do you keep it looking good when you have it on display without constantly using the silver polish?

I keep all of my sparkly vintage jewelery on a old silverplated tray on my dresser -- and separated by colors on smaller silverplate trays on it. Pearls are in a box nearby too. Just LOVE the way your tray looks too! I keep an old silverplate wine cooler nearby filled with creamy white silk roses. Lovely and fresh looking for the summer months.

Gorgeous! The thing I love most about silver is that it's so easy to find at thrift stores for so little! But it takes a great eye to use it the way you have. Nice job! ~A :-)

That's a beautiful tray. I'm always surprised at some of the silver I find at the thrift stores. I think the younger generation is not interested in it at this time. I often wonder if later in life they will regret letting their inherited treasures go. Love your merchandising on the tray, and your mother's bracelet is beautiful.
