Shopping on my lunch hour

Pin It Now!

Today was my first day back to work after being off for 2 weeks. By the time my lunch hour came around I was ready to get out of the office. I headed over to Marshall's and this is what I found...three more blue transferware plates to add to my collection. What a deal, all three plates for $20. On my way home from work I stopped at Bed, Bath and Beyond to pick up some plate hangers and I found this museum wax so I can wax down my sentimental china (see my previous post) so it won't get broken if we have an earthquake. This stuff works great and it puts my mind at ease a bit. Some people would spend more than $20 for something therapeutic but for me shopping for dishes was all the therapy I needed. I ♥ Marshall's!

What a great deal you found on the plates. The blue and yellow one is stunning, but they`re all pretty. I never knew about museum wax. Interesting. Thanks for visiting my blog :)
Happy New Year!

What beauties! I could never have enough transferware! I've never heard of the museum wax. What does it do?

Hi Jen, you would only need Museum Wax if you live in area that gets earthquakes. You scrape a small amount of the wax off with the small wooden paddle that comes with it and you knead it between your fingers until it's soft, then you can put it on the back of the dish so it stays put on the shelf if there is an earthquake. Since I'm in California and close to two major fault lines, the San Andreas and Hawyard Fault Lines,I really should have bought this stuff a long time ago. In the big 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake I lost a lot of nice things and I don't want that to happen again so hopefully this will help...but, if the whole shelf falls off the wall it probably won't help...LOL

Just beautiful plates! I too can never have enough of them! You found a wonderful deal!

I remember getting museum wax when we lived in California and I still have some. Now Ijust use it for little things that could be easily bumped off a shelf. It works great. For the smaller shakes...I will say a prayer that you remain free of any bigger shakes!

Have a great Wednesday!
Hugs,
Sue
