For the Love of Roses - Show and Tell Friday!

Pin It Now!

Who doesn't love roses?  I do now but when I was young and moved into my first home I ripped out all the rose bushes because I hated roses! I replaced them with junipers!  Ugh...JUNIPERS!  It's really amazing how much our tastes can change over the years!

Now I love roses... especially pink roses!  I'm really not into red roses at all!  Pink, peach, white, yellow, lavender... really any color rose except red roses.

Pink by far is my favorite!

...but you could probably have guessed that!

Roses and hydrangeas are my favorite flowers!  Lilacs are a close third though!  My lilac bush is filled with buds and next month I should have gorgeous lilac bouquets to share with you!  That excites me...it's nice when you can get excited over little things like that!

Roses, hydrangeas and seashells... perfection in my eyes!

I'll take the fluffy old English roses over the perfect tea roses any day. The fuller and fluffier they are the better!

although these store-bought roses are pretty too!

I know I've mentioned it before...the Eden Rose is my favorite rose!  My Eden Rose bush in my back patio is leafing out right now! Hopefully it will be full of blooms in a few months!  It blooms about 3 or 4 times throughout the spring, summer and fall but the first bloom is always the best, with the biggest blooms!

I have so many photos of my Eden roses over the years!

Some more store-bought roses above in my favorite old pitcher I found on ebay years ago... a pitcher that I spent more money on than I wanted to but I fell in love with it.  Sometimes you just have to splurge!

and a homegrown bouquet in a simple mason jar.

Soon my Eden rose bush will be blooming like this again!  I think this photo was taken the second year I had it. It gets bigger and more full of blooms every year!

After looking at these old photos of all my roses throughout the years I've been blogging has me really excited to see the blooms again!

All those roses are just beautiful! I absolutely love roses too, and love having fresh cut ones at home too... whether it's in the living room, on the dining room table, or just a couple of stems decorating the bedroom. Beautiful pictures!

I love all your roses! I like the story about replacing roses with junipers--my taste has changed so much over the years too. I used to think that people who painted their kitchen cabinets were covering up beautiful wood. Now I paint everything I see! I bought a Eden climbing rose because of yours--and I am looking forward to it's 2nd year. :)( Thanks for hosting the party!

Kathy

Merci pour ces jolies roses ! Like you roses weren't my favourites younger. In fact I hated to see cut flowers, wanted them in the tree or in the garden. Now it's different, don't know why and I'm able to cut my hydrangeas lilac ors roses in my Parisian sweet garden.

Your pink roses are absolutely gorgeous. I am ordering a new rose to plant this year and was trying to decide whether I wanted a pink or a red one. After seeing your wonderful photos, I have decided on the pink ones for sure.

i totally agree with you about red roses! Red ones are those i like less, i'm in love with pink, lilac, yellow and white ones. This is the first year i buy roses, and within some days i'll plant them in my garden. I look forward to see their flowers!!!!

Your roses and flowers and photos are all breathtaking, Cindy! I've been privileged to enjoy my neighbor's roses on the fence between our homes. But they seem to be fading away, a little more gone each year (I've been there over 30 years). I might just have to return the favor and plant some on "my side" of the fence this year! Blessings for a wonderful week. Bess

Your rose photos are gorgeous! So lovely...I don't think I have a favorite color, maybe pink though. I love apricot roses in a bouquet with blue/violet flowers. Takes my breath away every time.
