Show and Tell Friday

Pin It Now!

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!

This week I'm sharing a new book I just bought!  For those of you that watch the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills you may recognize Lisa Vanderpump.  The Real Housewives shows on Bravo are a guilty pleasure of mine!  My favorites are the California shows (Beverly Hills and Orange Country).  Lisa is my absolute favorite housewife on all the shows!  I love her style! I still can't believe she's my age! Oh...how I would love to look like that!!!

Anyway...she has a new book out and I just bought it today.  I've thumbed through it and it looks great, although I wish there were more photos of her beautiful table settings and flower arrangements!  The recipes look great though and I can't wait to try them out!

The book is called Simply Divine ~ A Guide to Easy, Elegant and Affordable Entertaining.  I bought mine at Barnes and Noble but you can also buy it online at Amazon.

I picked some pink roses from my garden to add a touch of "Lisa-style" to this photo! Her nickname is Pinky and she has lots of beautiful pink touches in her oh-so-elegant home mansion!

I hope the job hunting is going well, that's if you haven't already been successful.

Loved your last Post on the Ritz Carlton too.

I saw this book today in Barnes & Noble! I was in there to find a book to help me grow my blog when I saw it. There were some beautiful photos in it. I'm linking up today. Thank you for hosting.

Lisa Vanderpump is my favorite housewife too. Maybe we should talk to Bravo and get them to feature us as the Real Housewives (or Not) of Blogland. Good luck on your job search. With all of your talent, you are sure to find something perfect for you very soon!

Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

I echo what somebody else said...you DO look that good, Cindy. I think you look fab in the fifties, so don't forget it; seriously, look at what you've done for yourself and your health, with losing weight, cute hair, fun personality and intelligent...yes, true, none of us here probably have this gal's wealth but real "style" is worth a heckuva lot!!!

Gotta admit, I never started the "Real Housewives" shows. At the time, I felt I was already watching too many reality shows. These in CA I probably could have liked; never too late to start. Looks like the kind of book content to drool over. Even just the yummy peachy and pink colors are enough for me (your roses are so pretty; mine outside are now all faded and disappearing although my mom has a yellow rosebush which is prolific, with blooms the size of small hams!).

I'm glad you're doing things for yourself right now, while you have the job uncertainty. A good book is a good distraction. You just can't stop living when you have the worry of unemployment or it will reflect in your interviews. Soothe yourself with whatever pretty thing you've got, keep your hope up and don't miss the beauty of the holiday season. Sending you a big hug ('cause I've been there and it can gnaw at you, obviously!). I just talked to a woman yesterday who'd started a new job two days ago and she was absolutely bubbly; it'll happen to you, too!

Okay, so I took your lead, went to Amazon and ordered Lisa's book. Thanks for the tip. In reading about her, she's not just a pretty face (although, yes, she has a pretty face!), owning two restaurants and writing a lifestyle column. I love to look at these kinds of books and dream. I'll take whatever de-stressor comes along (if I can afford it!). We all need the occasional indulgence!

Maybe you could write to her and tell her you've featured her in your blog. You could snag an intro. Who knows where it might lead. Look at Sandi over at Shabby Streamside. She's even featured in Rachel Ashwell's latest book now! And been on Nate Berkus' TV show. And I think in ELLE magazine. Promote yourself...shamelessly, Cindy! Like we've all told you, you also have great style. Even in the old days before the internet, I would write to authors via their publisher and you can't imagine the nice, personalized, sometimes written-by-their-own-hand responses!

Cindy your roses are so pretty and it's 31 degrees here.I do still have some geraniums blooming because they can take cold weather.

Wouldn't ya love to live like the housewifes of beverly Hills for just a year? I would shop myself to death and would loose some weight doing it.LOL
