I bought the DVD of "It's Complicated" the day it came out (because I loved it at the movies) but I didn't get around to watching it until last weekend. In the movie Jane (Meryl Streep) serves Honey Lavender Ice Cream and it just sound so good so I decided to make my own.
I found the recipe on epicurious.com which is my favorite source for recipes! I bought the culinary lavender at Whole Foods (it's with all the herbs and spices in a small box).
Exciting news! Today I hit the 2 millionth visitor mark on my blog! Let's celebrate with some ICE CREAM! haha!

Cindy, that sounds lovely! So beautiful too. Thank you for the link. Happy Cinco De Mayo! ~Lulu
how cool is this?!! i just bought some 'lavender' @ fresh market last week b/c i had never bought it before...so now i know what to do with it :)
Oh yum! I will definitely be making this.
I will try this. I use heavy whipping cream and fat free half and half. It works just as well, but is not as rich, plus you don't get the wax-y feeling on the roof of your mouth. :)
Half and half makes the world go around in my book....congrats on 2 mil - I was 1,000,004 (If I recall correctly)! Not kidding, I was! I tried really hard to be the millionth that day! Yep, I'm a fan.
This ice-cream looks so mouthwatering! Congratulations on 2 million visitors! You are doing such a fabulous work on your blog! I'm just in love with "My Romantic Home"!
Interesting. Back in the early 90s there was a celebration of Thomas Jefferson and one of his published recipes included lavender. I was so intrigued. Shortly thereafter I was lucky enough to be able to visit D.C. and enjoyed a valentine's day dessert at the Four Seasons and was delighted to enjoy lavender sauce! Your ice cream looks equally as luscious!!
I gotta get a ice cream maker!
Love the movie, loved the ice cream, too! Yum...
2mil...incredible, Congratulations!
Beth
Dear Cindy...TWO MILLION VISITORS! Can you even fathom that number? OMG!!!!!! Congratulations! That is absolutely tremendous and extremely impressive.
Hey, the honey lavendar ice cream sounds good, too! Ha!
I definitely want to get that movie. Since you've talked about it before, I really want to see it.
Congratulations, Cindy. You deserve at least a GALLON of that ice cream! Sincerely, Susan

Hi Cindy......I went to see "It's Complicated" too and loved it..bought the dvd and haven't had a chance to watch it yet, maybe this weekend. The ice cream looks so good! Such a pretty photo of a little dish of ice cream!~Hugs, Patti
Cindy,
I loved everything about "It's Complicated" - the story line, the actors, Meryl's home, wardrobe, and garden.
Congrats on hitting the 2 million milestone! I've been following you for a couple years now and have to say that you consistently have a WOW factor in your posts.
I'll toast to your success with ice cream today. :-)

A perfect setting for a perfect mouth watering desert.
The icecream looks DEE-licious. Too bad I have cookies from last night that need to be eaten up before I feel good about making another dessert...hmmm...we'll see if that reason lasts.

I grow my own culinary lavender, so I have got to try this. Not only does it sound delicious, but your presentation of it is so beautiful...I love the way you added the little sprig of lavender.
~jermaine~
Congratulations Cindy on your success!
I am loving this ice cream post. I LOVE lavender and just created a brand new lavender blog in addition to mine so this lavender ice cream really hits close to home. Thank you!
Just love that movie....my son bought it for me for my birthday last month. Can't wait to see it again. The ice cream sounds devine!
That is a great movie -- I saw it twice in the theater and I am also going to buy the DVD.
I don't have an ice cream maker, but this may be a reason to buy one. I have had a recipe for lavender cookies that comes from the local lavender farm and one of these days I will make them because they are delicious. I have my own lavender plant so I guess I could use that for the ice cream, too.
Wow! That is a lot of visitors. I'd love some lavender ice cream, thank you. Beautiful post as always.
See you tomorrow for Show and Tell Friday. ~ Sarah
Hello Cindy, mmm looks delicious. Beverley.
That sounds entirely too divine for words.
I am growing my own lavender just for this purpose. I got the recipe at the same place. Great minds think alike!
Yum!
I have seen the lavender at WF, but never knew what to do with it!
I have to go check out that recipe!!
Congrats on 2,000,000!!
I'm not surprised!
I have to send this to my friend, toni, who loves lavender. You styled your photos so beautifully, Cindy! And congratulations on 2 million visitors. WOW -- that is amazing!
I wonder if I could use lavender I'm growing-no chemicals used on it? Congrats on all those visitors!
