Gifts, Awards & Tagged!

Pin It Now!

Debbie ~ My Vintage Daydreams sent me these beautiful plates! It's so exciting to get unexpected packages! This picture does not do them justice, they are so beautiful! These will be great plates to serve appetizers on! Thank you Debbie!

I was tagged by Nancy Jane ~ At Home in the Hills. I have to list 6 unimportant things about myself. It's getting harder and harder to think up new things to share. I sort of feel like I've spilled out my whole life on this blog!!

1. I don't date now because I have my daughter full time but years ago I would go out when she was at her dad's house. During those years I tried it all; online dating services, speed dating, even hanging out in a few clubs. I met a couple nice men, my friend Nelson being one. I know when I mentioned him a couple weeks ago some of you were curious who he was. We dated way back in 2000 after meeting on the Yahoo personals and although the romantic relationship only lasted about a year, we've been friends ever since.

2. Speaking of dating. I never thought I would say this but I'm actually looking forward to dating again when Lauren is grown. She's 15 1/2 now so in about 2.5 - 3 years I'm hoping to be back in the game! Let's hope the players are better than they were last time I did this!

3. I really believe in "The Secret"! I think I've mentioned here before that I won $40,000 in 1994 at a Company picnic. A couple months before that I had a feeling I was going to win it and I told everyone I know I was going to win it. I acted like I had already won it. Guess what...I won!!! The Secret (the book and the DVD) came out many years after that and the first time I watched it, it all made sense to me. It was the "Law of Attraction" at work! Okay, I know I probably just lost about half my readers because they think I'm some sort of new age weirdo but I'm not. If you are a believer in "The Secret" you have to leave a comment and back me up on this!!! To me, it's just about positive thinking and nothing weird or dark.

4. I hate flying and I get really nervous on a plane! I won't let it stop me from traveling though.

5. After reading #4 you probably won't believe this....I went bungee jumping for my 30th birthday! I did it twice!! And I have it on video!!!

6. I LOVE jury duty! I never met anyone else that likes jury duty. If there were a career as a juror I would have done it! I've only been summoned once in my life but I got lucky and was picked. I found the whole experience so interesting. It was a felony hit and run and we found him guilty. It was a 3 day trial and I was sad when it was over. I wouldn't want to be on a trial where it was a crime against a child though. I know I wouldn't be able to handle that.

Okay, probably that was TMI (too much information) but as you can tell, I'm a very open person.

Next on the list, Sheila~Note Songs gave me the Arte Y Pico Award. Sheila is a sweetheart...You know when you first meet someone through their blog and you get that feeling that they are a genuine person? That's how I feel about Sheila! When you see her profile picture you'll see what I mean. I KNOW she's a happy person just by that photo! I think I need to change my profile photo to a happier one too! Thank you Sheila, I'm happy that you joined the blogging community!

Hi Cindy,

Your not the only one that like jury duty. I too like to sit in a court room. I wonder what that means about us.
And the Secret, I too like the putting it out there to get it back.
I'll have to listen again to it to remind myself once and awhile why I believe in it.
And the dating, that's what I did for my son. Not date. Well I don't know what my excuse is now he's 22.

Ciao

Oh I'm jealous of those plates you got. Debbie is such a sweetheart. Always thinking of others.

Well, we have another thing in common. I LOVE jury duty too. Several years ago I was on a murder trial of this serial murderer. The trial lasted almost 6 months.

It was sick, twisted, bloody and even scary but I loved it. It was like watching Law and Order or something. I couldn't believe it was real or I would have freaked out. The guy is on death row now.

I can't believe you went bungee jumping. You are nuts! I went sky diving and para sailing and thought that was bad. But bungee jumping??? No way.

Hey, I made your lemon cupcakes and banana ice cream. I posted about it today. Gave you KUDOS for the recipes.

Thanks
Joanne

The concept behind the Secret is not new. There are a ton of books that present the same information.

I was introduced to the same belief through Unity Church 35 years, ago.

IT does WORK!

I can agree with you about the positive energy and thoughts, law of attraction. There is nothing dark or weird about it. We should listen to our instinct little bit more and be positive. Thanks for the link.

Enjoy your day, hope the heat wave is over. Suzy

Oh, Cindy, how sweet of you to say those things about me! I really appreciate it. You are fabulous (I've said that before). You deserve more than just a pretty little award to look at. I wish you all the best and it's great getting to know more about you!! Love those plates - they were made especially for your romantic home.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

i wholeheartedly believe in the power of positive thinking! i think just having a good attitude about life in general gets you alot farther than being negative.

Dear Cindy,

I am totally behind 'THe Secret" - and the concept is nothing new. However, I do think its something we all 'forget' until we are reminded of it. I absolutely believe in it and have seen proof of it in my life.

I love the plates!

Hi cindy! Love those plates! I loved that book "The Secret". I totally believe that you have to think positive. Positive energy draws positive things, and visa versa. Think negative, and you draw negative energy to you.

I was wondering about your "friend" Nelson when you mentioned you had a fun day out. I thought perhaps he might be your new beau. I was waiting for you to mention it first, and when you didn't I didn't think it polite to ask. I am glad you are still friends. It's nice to have a guy friend to get a mans prospective on things.

Have a great weekend!

I hate flying also, sweet romantic chick!! I won't get on a plane anymore.

I've been married to the same hunk for 47 years and don't date any more.;-) I think Love Bunny wouldn't like it too much, hmmmmm?!?!?! He's my doll and forever partner in life.

Smoochies,
Connie

I did some positive thinking when I entered to win your button wreath and we both know how that turned out. So no, I don't think you're weird for believing in the Secret. There's nothing wrong with positive thinking. Thanks for sharing...

I'm an open person too. And open to much anything, but don't know much about The Secret but the barest details. I get the scope of it though. I absolutely love those plates. My colors too. And I don't think you could do anything to drive away your readers, Cindy!

I believe in The Secret too! But, unfortunately, my unwanted pessimism and overthinkingeverything just probably destroys it all.

Anyway, here's your backup!

I'm another believer in The Secret as well. Maybe it is sort of like when you buy a new car... suddenly everyone else seems to be driving the same car too. Think positive thoughts, and see positive results everywhere. But it works for me.

I also elected not to date after my husband died. I didn't want to complicate my kids lives anymore than they already were. They are all in their twenties now, so I'm so quite sure what I'm still waiting for? It has been 10 long years!

I too believe in the law of attraction. What is the harm, it does'nt hurt anyone and it make you feel good.I too am addicted to your blog and check on you everyday, keep up the great work

I have never heard of The Secret, probably banned in Boston, huh?

I have never been a juror and have only been called to jury duty once for a half a day. Right about now jury duty pay is looking good, lol.

Have a lovely weekend.

Hey Miss Cindy! Count me in on the Secret too! I listen to the CD's all the time as background while I work in the studio. I have the book and also the DVD. The lessons it teaches on being positive and thinking positive are wonderful. I've had so many great things happen since applying these principals...too many to note here. But I am on the bus with you! And jury duty....girl, I had to laugh there....I got a summons a couple of weeks ago. I have to report on Monday morning for jury service. I have never served before, so we will see what happens. Have a great weekend sweetie! xoxo ~ Joy

Congrats on the award! I have more for you! Please come by and pick them up if you'd like!

It was fun reading the interesting facts about you. I do the internet dating thing too, and after 8 years am still trying to find Mr. Right. I have made some wonderful friends though, but on the other hand, have found some real boogers too.

The plates are beautiful, and it was so sweet of your friend to send them to you!!! I enjoyed reading your list of unimportant things about you, but I think that those things are part of what makes you YOU, and therefore, they are important. :-)

I haven't dated in about 9 years, and that really sucks!! The last 8 years I've been dealing with my injuries and major life changes from my accident at work, but I'm now ready to date and have no idea how to start. Because I can't drive, can't work, and have only one friend in the area, it's basically impossible to meet anyone, let alone eligible men! I tried the internet dating thing and really did not like it. I never actually ended up meeting anyone in person, but the experiences of talking online and on the phone always ended in a bad way. I'm almost 39 and have never been married. I worry about my chances of meeting the right person to marry and have babies with are very quickly passing me by and feel helpless as to how to get into the dating game with my particular circumstances.

Anyway, I'm sure you will have MUCH better luck than me! YOu have a life that allows you to be out and about to meet people, and you're a great person so I have no doubt that you will soon be fighting the men off with a stick!! :-)

Hugs,
Michele

OMG...I want to be a juror also....my sister is the same way. She actually got chosen but never made it to a trial...she was soooo bummed. I've NEVER been picked. Why don't they have a box to check saying, "PICK ME"...ba haaaa it would make there listening to lame excuses so much easier. My sister thinks that she never got picked because she was TOO excited to do it.....thought she was planted....ba haaaaaa. Great blog, I love it.

THE SECRET is You have not because you ask not.
Believe and you shall receive.

Laws of attraction are very real and God has created us all to be able to tap into the resources that the universe has.
I have had so many things and events happen because I focused on the positives,
My grandmother used to tell me that if you want it bad
enough it will find its way too you.
Love ya Cindy

Hi Cindy, nice plates. I served on jury dute once and it was the longest 3 weeks of my life. I hated it. I had to arrange for someone to keep my daughter then take her to afternoon kindergarten and pick her up because I still wouldn't have been home. It was a robbery trail and I just didn't feel comfortable having to determine someone's fate. I hope I NEVER have to serve again!!

Blessings,

Sher

Thanks for sharing the interesting facts! I love learning new little things about people. I too love Jury Duty - we are probably the only 2 people in the US! I had to serve for the first time about a year ago. Mine was a drug case. I loved it - very interesting. Made me want to go back to school and become a lawyer until I realized the schooling involved. :-)

Your not alone, I believe in the Secret too. On my own blog I have a blog about all the times its worked for me. And now Im moving away from the Bay area to Oregon. I have no idea where Im going to end up.....but Im going. A desire for it was put out to the universe several yrs ago but I said Im not going alone, so find me a companion. My bf found me :) and hes orginally from there and wants to go back. So now once this place is sold we will be doing that. Im sending out vibes of what I want so it will be ready when I get there :) It really does work.
