Cathy at Treasured Heirlooms gave me this "You Make My Day Award"! I'm sure you've all been to Cathy's blog before but in case you haven't you really should visit. Her blog is beautiful! I'm in love with her little pink cottage in her backyard, which has been featured in a few magazines. I first saw it on Flickr and I was so thrilled when she started a blog! Also, make sure you visit her boutique. She has some beautiful things for sale!
"The rules for the “You Make My Day” award are to re-present it to 10 people whose blogs bring you happiness and inspiration and make you feel happy about blog land. Let them know through email or by posting a comment on their blog so they can pass it on. Beware you may get the award several times, and if you do, consider yourself really, really loved. So to pass it on and keep the love going.
You know I never pass these on but if your blog is on my sidebar, it's there because you make my day. There are many other blogs I read that aren't there too, I feel like if I added every blog I love the list would go on and on and on! I wish I had more hours in the day to read all the great blogs out there. It seems like I find new ones starting up almost every day!
In other news....I'm going to look at an entertainment center armoire tonight (pictured below) that I found on Craigslist. The one my landlord gave me doesn't have a shelf for a TV, it's more of a wardrobe armoire. I'll probably use the smaller one in my daughter's room because her TV is smaller. So hopefully I will get this one below. Of course, it means I have another painting project to do. Hmmm, now should I paint it blue or white? Click here to see the blue I'm thinking about. Of course then I'll have to get slipcovers for my sofa because the blues will clash, maybe I should just paint it shabby chic white.

What a great armoire. Painting it would be quite a project. Lots of sanding but I think with your knack for painting it would turn out beautiful!
Hi Cindy:
You know me and my "paint it white" motto. I love to paint furniture white (or cream). Can't wait to hear if you got it and can't wait to see when its done...
Love to you,
Debbie Kay
Cindy, I'm sure your colour choice will be just right!
Hi Cindy! I can so see this beautiful piece of furniture white!!!! It will show off the detail wonderfully!!! xxoo, Dawn
Don't you just love Craigslist! Just off the top of my head, I have purchased a garden gate, an entertainment center, and a baby crib from there. I know there is something else - but I can't remember what it is.
I cannot wait to see the after photos Cindy!
Hey - what ever happened to that New Years Resolution to relax and take it easy this year??? hee hee.. I would have been disappointed if you had done that!
Pretty soon your landlord will have to let you add on to the house... I so love all of your projects, and will be waiting to see this one when it's done. By the way, I never did find a copy of Romantic Country Home with your house in it. What issue was it again?
Cindy,
You know how much I love your items and your blog!! I suggest you paint it white. and stencil a flower motif in blue on the doors, something simple but "Romantic" of course!!!!
Laura
You always find the best stuff! Whatever color you choose, I'm sure it will be beautiful!
xoxo,
Mary
Oh I love the blue, but I am partial to white. I finished a couple of projects that I posted last week, but I am having trouble finding space for a wine rack. I am going to be using your painting technique on what I use for an entertainment center which is a buffet that someone painted black. Hopefully it will be done by next week!
If you paint it white, you'll never have to worry about it matching other colors.

Cindy,
If you figure out that PB Charlotte Blue technique let me know. I am dying for something that color, but am not sure where to start, or where to put it for that matter,LOL
Janet
Ooooooh! Very nice--hope you get it! I like Laura's idea of white with some stenciling. That could really be beautiful! Some of the stencil designs are quite elaborate now and the finished result can end up looking like it was painted by an artist. I've done quite a bit of stenciling and it's actually very easy and fun. You could always repaint the cabinet blue whenever you get your white slipcovers and then it would be like a new piece of furniture...again.
Paint it blue-that blue is wonderful. And don't worry about matching. I think things look better is there are many shades of one color in a room. It keeps your eye moving from thing to thing.
It's beautiful the way it is. But I know you're dying to paint it. So go with the flow!
Brenda
One thing leads to another Cindy.
I like shabby white.
I hope you get it.
Rosemary
I love the blue, Cindy. Do you know the maker and color name? I vote for blue!!
~~Mary Jane~~
The practical choice would be a chippy romantic white....but that blue is all so special.....I am not even a blue girl! :-) Rosie
I think the blue. Pottery barn has great slipcovers. I just got one last week for my couch. Mine was $169.00 + S&H. The link is. www.potterybarn.com/products/p10323/index.cfm?pkey=k%20%2C9957051&cm%5Fsrc=CQS&showsku=9957051
Good luck in whatever you choose.
Glenda
yup i like it blue also..
I love it! And you'll have such a great time with it.. My only little advice was given to me by a designer cousin of mine. She advocated buying a bit of fabric, about two yards of dollar fabric in the color you might go for... like that miraculous blue and draping it here and there to get the feel and see if it plays nicely with your other blues and accents... I don't go for all matchy things and I love the white or the blue.. mostly I trust your eye... It's never failed you yet! yum
Paint it shabby chic white - no matter what it will be lovely I'm sure!
We just gave our daughter a mini armoire ourselves to put her computer in and it turned out lovely (shabby black in her case which really grounded her room).
Hope it works out and that you liked what you saw!

I can't wait to see it all done. I love the blue but the white will go with everything. But then again I blue peice will POP OUT! Have you ever shopped at the shopgoodwill.com? OMG!! They have some great things. You bid on it like ebay but they are cheaper and not as many people shop there so your chances are pretty good to win.

Cindy! How I have missed you and your blog! I just sent something in the mail for you! Hope you like it! Just wanted to say thanks for being so great and happy spring too! Missed you, come and visit me sometime.
Hugs,
Robyn
I am SO LOVING that blue...PAINT IT BLUE CINDY!
Siobhan
Hi Cindy,
I love the armoire and the blue would be beautiful but I would probably stick with the white, can't go wrong with white. Take care.
LeAnn :)
Beautiful piece of furniture. The finish looks good on it, too. What ever you decide to do, I know it will be pretty.
bj
I'm new here but if your walls are white i would go with that great blue for sure!
What a great piece! I vote for white. I painted my nightstands the blue color, and I have the same floral/stripe quilt as you. I like the idea of adding wooden floral appliques to the armoire. I have had success with wreath and swag appliques from seller bcmchic on ebay. Cheap and easy to do!
