Someday I would love to have an old French mirrored armoire like the one above. All of these armoires are from The Bella Cottage. They have some beautiful things on their website!
I will be starting my armoire project this weekend. A few people asked where I get my floral appliques...here are a few that I have bought from in the past (click on the name to go to the website):
I haven't had any problems using resin appliques and there is a better selection of shabby chic florals made out of resin but if you prefer wood appliques, here is a place that has a good selection:
I'm thinking of adding these wreaths to the top portion of each top door. These are both from Do it yourself Chic I'm going to get my armoire all painted white before I make my decision on what appliques to order. I'm having a hard time visualizing what I want.

Your examples are wonderful. Thanks for the links. :-) Rosie
Oh I can't wait to see your armoire when it's finished. I'm sure it will be beautiful! I would love to have one, but our house is way too small, I would never fit it in anywhere.

Oh Cindy, that's going to look so beautiful! Now I want to paint my daughter's armoire. But her room is so messy that it would just get lost in all the cr**! :(
Have a great weekend!

Mary
I think the wreaths would look wonderful. Maybe add a smaller detail to the lower four sections as well. I wish I had your talent and energy to take on all these projects. I'd say I wish you lived in Ohio so you could work with me to motivate me. However, me living in California would be much nicer.
Cindy,
Love those armoires. I like the heart shaped appliques. I'm sur it will be beautiful.
You have me droooooling over those Armoires Cindy. I LOVE them but only have one. Think I need more, thanks for the reminder lol!! Cant wait to see yours all finished.

I've been lurking around your blog for quite some time but have never worked up the courage to post. lol
I love what you've done with your home, how you transform everyday items into beautiful pieces. It's so good to find someone who enjoys painted wood as much as I do.
I look forward to seeing what you do with the armoire, especially since I've been struggling with trying to find a way to transform my hand-me-down Southwest style dining room set into my shabby chic style. So do please post pics and instructions on EXACTLY how you accomplish your transformation, ok? lol
I know you're limited in what you can find, but a long vertical string of roses would look nice coming down the long doors. The round rose bouquet, would fit into the bottom square panels. Then some horizontal strands across the smaller rectangular panels.
Maybe some small corner pieces on the upper long doors.
What fun! But, I'm glad I don't have to make those decisions. You could open and shop and sell the furniture you remake. You're good.

Cindy, I've purchased things before from "Do it yourself Chic" and have been very happy with them too.
I can't wait to see your finished armoire pictures! I'm sure it will be a masterpiece.
Blessings,
Sher
Cindy,
I really like all the armoires. I started the same project but since I am doing this for the first time I believe that it was a very big step for me. My biggest problem is sanding and preparing it for the white paint since it is very dark armoire and I heard that I am supposed to sand all the previous color off. So I believe that you will finish yours first. I really can't wait to see yours.

Hi Cindy! I'm excited to see what you co with your new armoire! It's going to have that special "Cindy" touch you put on everything, whatever you do! We're all anxious to see what you do!! Sherry
Your new armoire will look so pretty in white! And I think some tasteful appliques will be just the right touch. Can't wait to see the finished project! ::Jill
Love white and I know whatever you do it'll be grand! enjoy the process!

Hi Cindy.
I guess white it is. What about painting it the blue on the inside of the cabinet.
What ever you decide I am sure you will be successful.

I like the idea of the applicques. As long as the resin pains the way I'd want I would like these. I know there is more variety in these. The armoire will be so beautiful.
I just found your blog and I absolutely LOVE it! I thought you would be able to answer a question for me.. I have just started "attempting" to paint my furniture Shabby style and I noticed you had a wonderful blog post about how to do it which was so great!! But I was wondering what you use to paint your furniture ie paint brush, roller, spongy tip? I just finished a dresser (white) and it came out all blotchy on the sides (when looked at different angles) and you can see some streaking on the drawers.. I've tried a roller on a coffee table I have, but you can still see some spots where the roller overlaps..When I use a brush, I can see brush strokes.. HELP!! I would appreciate any advice you could give on that..!! Thanks so much!!

I guess you are busy now painting your beautiful armoire. Ohh yes they re heavy, when it first is placed in the house one does not move it often, but indeed so wonderful. Cant wait to see it finished.

Very lovely inspiration pics. Whatever you do with your new wonderful find, I'm sure that it will be perfection!
They are so lovely. Would love to have one myself.
Hope you have a good day.

Cindy,
That's great. There are some authentic french appliques I saw listed on eBay not too long ago, you may want to check those out too. They weren't over the top expensive and are the real thing for a song!
I'm sure whatever you do will look great.
