White Wednesday

Yep...that's me in the picture above. As you can see...my aversion to having my picture taken started early in life! See my mom's hand in the bottom right hand corner? She was reaching to pull my dress back down but luckily the photographer saw the humor in it and quickly snapped the picture. It's my favorite photo of myself and I have it on my nightstand.
This is a little nightlight I bought at the Alameda Flea Market last spring.
I often get asked how I paint the hardware on my furniture. Here's a close-up of my dresser pulls. I spray painted them and then used Silver Rub n Buff on the top edges.
I love this ceramic finial...I bought this at HomeGoods...or was it Marshalls?
This tray came from Marshalls. And no, Marshalls doesn't pay me for all this free advertising and neither does HomeGoods.
This picture above is a lamp in my bedroom. I found a pair of these at the thrift store awhile ago. They were gold and ugly and I painted them white.
Do you remember this lamp below that Carol, one of my readers sent me? If not, you can read about it here . Are you wondering why I never showed it again? It's because I'm still looking for the perfect shade and the perfect roses to put on the shade.
I'm not giving up though! I know the perfect shade is out there!

  9. Lovely images and the peek-a-boo photo of you is hilarious! Have you tried "Finishing Touch Home Decor" 1566 Palos Verdes Mall, Walnut Creek, CA‎ for lampshades? It is a little out of the way place that I found to be a treasure trove a number of years ago when seaching for 3 perfect shades for antique lamps.

  16. Okay here's the deal, if you can't find a shade in say, 2 weeks, then we get to win the lamp!!! but seriously, try lowes.com, Item # 235478 Model # PSH0252 and see what you think? that lampshade with a bit of white fringe trim, not too long and some stunning roses would be a knockout (IMHO) of course can't gauge anything without knowing sizes..

I can see that you really love your whites! Even in the background of some pictures I can see white!!

Thanks for the tip on the dresser pulls. I often wonder if I should clean them up or replace them This is a great idea. I wrote everything down.

I love the lamp but I haven't seen what you do with the roses. The lamp is so pretty I can see why you are waiting for the best shade of roses. I really love the lamp in your bedroom and would like to see the whole thing. Wow! Such fabulous pieces, Cindy!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

I love Home Goods and Marshall's. I think mine is called Marshall's Home Goods? They have clothes, shoes, and all the home stuff in one store...I'll have to look at the sign better next time and see if there's an "and" in there.
