I would like to thank the IRS for depositing my tax refund into my bank account so quickly so I could splurge on this gorgeous Johnson Brothers cherub pitcher I found on eBay! I would have never spent $75 on this had I not been getting a big refund this year! To be honest, I have no idea if this was a good deal or not but I saw it and I had to have it and the timing could have not been any better!
I put a teacup next to it so you can see how HUGE it is! Perfect shabby chicness! The roses in the pitcher were marked down to $5 a dozen at the grocery store, just like the ones I showed you yesterday!
Hey Cindy! You did good girl. I would have bought that for myself it is so gorgeous. And I love those sweet little cherubs. Your pictures are stunning. I still get excited looking at pics of your home because it's just like thumbing through a Romantic magazine. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSue
Gorgeous pitcher Cindy and what a great way to spend your IRS money. I splurged on a new toilet with mine and I much prefer the way you spent yours. I love the wonderful pictures you post, it sure makes my day delightful checking your blog out.
ReplyDeleteSandra
Those roses look sooo real!!!
ReplyDeleteThe best thing that happened to me so far..in 2009 is that i found your blog. You inspired me to start my own blog & postings. I just enjoy your blog so much. Thank you, Cindy!!
Cindy.. I think it was a GREAT deal!! Just a perfect addition to your lovely home!!!!

ReplyDeleteHUGS, JACKIE
Wow, is that pretty! I love pitchers and I love roses. . . I'm going out of town for a few days so we have no fresh flowers right now... sigh. I'm almost thinking about starting to bring some to work every week so my office looks more cheery. :D Everyone here keeps their offices so impersonal!
ReplyDeleteSuzie: The roses are real!
ReplyDeleteGood for you for doing a little splurge on yourself. You work hard for your money and deserve it. Isn't it funny how getting a refund is like getting free money when the truth is it was your hard earned dollars to begin with. Sort of a little savings account for yourself.
ReplyDeleteI think everyone should get at least one thing with they love with the refund check as it's a little reward for yourself.
Enjoy!
Joanne
It is beautiful! So why not splurge? You deserve it!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Susan
I have never seen one like that before!! just lovely with the roses!!
ReplyDeleteWow Cindy! It's gorgeous for sure.

Cindy,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and worth it if you really love it! The IRS is helping me build my laundry/storage room. I love the roses, too.!
Sandyt
Romantic and beautiful !!!!
ReplyDeleteI can see why it was so appealing
....it's totally you. Love it and
the roses make it complete.
Sometimes we all need to splurge
on ourselves. It can be as simple as the little bird salt and pepper
shaker from Target or a more exquisite piece. We deserve it !!
Mimi
just beautiful...you are such a bargain shopper you deserve a splurge once in a while. and this wasn't even expensive at all.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I absolutely love it! Had I seen this on E-bay I might have had to bid on it. I think it's one of those special finds for you that makes it worth the price. Let me know if you ever, ever decide to get rid of it.
ReplyDeleteNow that is the way to spend a refund...you go girl!
ReplyDelete-marie @ mariesmarche
Wow, that is gorgeous, Cindy. And so are the roses, especially for the price you got them for.

Gorgeous, my dear!! And no better way to spend the money that you already gave the IRS and let them hold it for you than that delicious vase!

ReplyDeleteNZCarla
Way to thank the IRS for giving you YOUR money back (sans interest) in a timely manner. LOL
ReplyDeleteI do however, love what you got with your tax check. If we get a refund this year (doubtful/self-employed) I will be getting fencing for the horses! :P
What a great find. Don't miss my giveaway!
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Oh, it's so pretty. Our entire refund check goes towards our son's college tuition. It really helps us! Joanne

ReplyDeleteHi Cindy, the pitcher is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful in your home.
I love your home.....it is so pretty and feminine. Visiting

face. Hope you are having a great
week!
Becky
OOPS!!
ReplyDeleteThey are real roses!! :D
What was i thinking?
I work in Down Town LA right by the whole sale district where I shop fabrics and other decoration stuffs during my lunch hour and last week, I went to a whole sale silk flower shop and bought some silk roses to make a lamp shade.(Like the one from The Bella Cottage)I bought my "silk roses" a dozen for $5. Have a good day, Cindy!! Suzie
What a beautiful pitcher. I love the color and the beautiful flowers that are in it. It looks like spring!
ReplyDeleteFabulous!!! It is beautiful! Enjoy your new find! :)
ReplyDeleteoooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh pretty~
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely pitcher and looks perfect in your home.
ReplyDeleteOut here in Texas, we thought people in CA were getting IOU's for their refunds. So glad to hear it's not so !! Beautiful buy...
oh.. that reminds me... gotta start working on my taxes!
ReplyDeleteoh.. and beautiful pitcher... great choice!
That was a good buy and so beautiful, I just love it, good old Uncle Sam.
ReplyDeleteWow, gorgeous pitcher! I love the colors on it -- the blue is really unusual. Most of my big pitchers are plain white, but now I think I have seen the promised land -- color!
ReplyDeleteMy IRS refund went to help pay what we owe the state of New Jersey!
Not nearly as much fun.
Thanks! Cass
So pretty Cindy and looks beautiful on your table:) That good ole IRS:)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Carol
So beautiful and perfect for your home.
ReplyDeleteOoh, you must have filed your taxes QUICK! We did ours early, too, so now I'll be checking my account balance daily!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping now that CA passed it's budget, we won't be getting I.O.U.s and will get real money instead.
Beautiful vase!
(lol to Sandra in TN...no, a toilet is not a fun purchase!)
IRS money always feels like a gift...even tho it's your own money! Great purchase.

I had an older friend who gave me alot of old silverplate and was wanting to try my hand at making one. Could you tell me are there 2 forks together? That's lovely! Isn't the IRS great sometimes.... I am having a before and after party today! Stop over and join in!
ReplyDeleteCindy,
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous pitcher! I love the little cherubs. I haven't even filed my taxes yet! I saw a beautiful clawfoot tub at Lowe's that I just love! I keep telling myself that I need it!
Come look at my last post about the old house for sale in my hometown. They have reduced the price to $145,000. Can you believe that? I bet it would be way more than that where you live. I plan on going to see it again soon and I will take pictures of the inside. Let me know what you think. I want to find out the history of it but I don't know how to go about it.
Hugs,
Lee Laurie
Cindy, You did it again, this pitcher is a big wow factor. Loooove it!! Very romantic indeed.
ReplyDeleteThe worth of an object we adore is in the lens of our eyes, not our pocketbook, isn't it? I love what you bought for yourself. We have to give ourselves gifts! One gift you give to me is your blog, Cindy.

Hi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteThe pitcher is gorgeous! I love most of Johnson Bros. stuff and you got yourself a beauty! There is an award for you on my blog if you would like to drop by and pick it up...Have a wonderful day!
Blessings,
Sandi
Wow, I probably would have bought that too. I love it! But then, I'm so trying to cut back and save more. With this economy, I like extra $$$$ in the bank. So, I'm trying to stay off Overstock.com, Ebay and out of the brick and mortar stores (even the thrift ones). It's amazing how much extra $$$ I can put into the bank when I do that!! I'm shocking myself, and my husband!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sher
It is lovely. It looks like YOU...Ann
ReplyDeleteI got mine pretty quick as well. Yay!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pitcher!!
Hi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous! Just think of all the bouquets you can put in it for Spring too ;)

Oh, I LOVE the pitcher!!! It's so pretty, and I'm envious, LOL!! It looks beautiful in your lovely home, too.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering where you got the pretty candle holders that you keep on your table? I've always admired them while looking at your photos, and I"ve yet to find any that are a good price. What would you consider a good price for something like that?
Thanks for sharing your beautiful purchase! It is gorgeous!!
Thanks so much!!

Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI think it was well worth it. I bought one a few years back and paid $95 cdn, but in the end its how much you love it that counts and of course the affordability. This is simply too lovely! Adore the color and angels and the tea cup lends itself well to it. Good buy.
Hugs, Annabelle
Absolutly beautiful. totally worth the $$. What a great ebay find. Lucky girl!

Beautiful pitcher! Gotta love the IRS. We spent our refund on a new transmission and on property taxes! Oh, I'd much rather buy pretty treasures!
ReplyDeleteI stumbled upon your blog from somewhere. Beautiful pitcher. I must say I envy those who get tax refunds.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your HGTV appearance on Rate My Space. Too cool.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow, I am SO incredibly behind in my blog reading!
ReplyDeleteI've been catching up with you and this post stopped me in my tracks! OY, what a find! I'm frugal too, but this pitcher is definitely worth $75. Absolutely exquisite!! I love and collect cherubs as well and will forever be jealous of this beauty, lol!
Enjoyed your cherub post too, esp. the shot of the one reflected in the mirror.
The homes near your son were awesome, and gardens too.
Congrats on your new sofa, woohoo! That extra slip cover WAS a steal! It looks fab~
As always, tons of eye candy here. Thanks for posting and sharing.
I've GOT to get me a faux chocolate bunny....
Happy Spring!
