We Celebrated!

Pin It Now!

To make my TV debut last night more fun I made Lauren and I some chocolate covered strawberries and bought champagne for me and sparkling apple cider for her. It was a celebration even if it was just the two of us. I chose not to have anyone over because I wanted it to be a relaxing evening. If I had people over I would have been more stressed out!
Lauren walked in the door with two of her friends just as I finished making these. The look on her face when she saw these was priceless and she yelled out to her friends "LOOK WHAT MY MOM MADE!" Chocolate covered strawberries are one of her favorites!
Thank you all so much for all the nice comments and emails you left about my performance. It was okay for me...the only thing I hated is how fat I looked but at least I'm down about 20 lbs since that was filmed last May!!!

Have a good weekend!

Edited to add: If you don't know what I'm talking about...I was on HGTV's show "Rate my Space" last night as one of the inspiration rooms. It will air a few other times so you can check the HGTV website. The episode is called "A Romantic Cabana with an Island Vibe"

That was a great idea, just you and your daughter celebrating. And even though it was just the two of you, you made it so special. You looked fabulous. Don't worry about it. And by the sounds of it, you're doing well on your diet anyhow... in spite of chocolate covered strawberries!!!

I was very sleepy, but I managed to stay up until 1 AM to watch the show. It was really very well done. Congratulations to you. The only thing my house might be inspiration for is "how not to's". My shop however, people love.

Anyhow, have a wonderful weekend. I'm going with a very good friend tonight on a "First Friday Art Walk". All the art galleries and unique shops stay open until 9 pm and you just walk around the city and do what you want to do. Some of the restaurants provide outdoor sampling of the goodies inside. Tonight however, I'm hoping for something more like hot coffee or cocoa! It's been chilly!

My husband and I anxiously awaited last nights episode on HGTV, and it certainly didn't dissapoint. Fabulous episode, loved the makeover they did.

I cheered your name out loud when they showed you, and I looked at Adam and gleemed "I know her. We've never met, but I totally know her".

They showed some great shots of your charming home. How very exciting indeed. How proud you must be, being an inspiration to the lovely couple that was featured. Congratulations and well deserved.

Cindy,

I tried to catch glimpses as I watched the debate with my husband. We are political opposites so we usually avoid any polical shows, but not last night. I caught your picture, but that was all I saw of you. I didn't much care for all the curtains outside and I thought the "plantation shutters" looked like bifold doors (lack of depth). I was too tired and bored from the debate to watch the repeat RMS at 1:00 AM. Hopefully I will catch you in a rerun.

As I told you before you did a great job. I too would have hated to see myself on the boob tube. What did your mom and dad think ?

Congrats on the 20lbs. I don't know how you stuck with their food.

But the other thing is I noticed in your pictures today was that candle on the table. That is so neat how that's melting.

Chocolate-covered strawberries.... so delish! You deserved it!

I live in the East Coast and my BF and I had to watch the VP debate. I had RMS recorded and I watched it this morning! Oh, Cindy, you have such a sweet voice and you look so natural! Your romantic home looks beautiful on TV...How I wished your feature was a little bit longer!

Those strawberries look delish...makes me want to run to the store and buy the goodies to make them for my daughter who is coming for a visit this weekend...I think she will have the same reaction as your daughter... as she loves chocolate covered strawberries.

I was fortunate enough last night to watch the debate and TIVO your debut on Rate My Space. I was unfamiliar with the format b/c I've never watched it before...but it was cool how they incorporated the beach cottage style out of 3 totally different inspirations...I of course LOVED yours the most. You did a very good job, a natural I might add...no nerves were evident to me...and everything looked fab...including you. I know you are proud of loosing 20 lbs...we all think we need to loose more weight...but honestly I did not think you looked like you needed to loose any weight...plus doesn't tv add a few pounds...so sweetie you looked just fine...but I am happy for you that you had a goal of loosing 20 and you reached it...now I need to reach that same goal :) Way to go on the show...I was thrilled for you...you deserve all the accolades you receive...inspirations abound throughout your sweet cottage.

Blessings...

Cindy, I loved the show. I am so happy I know a celebrity. You were so at ease. You know what they say, cameras add pounds on you so it wasn't really you. Besides I did not think you looked fat. You looked great with your blue on. I love what they showed of your home but I wanted to see a lot more. It was a evening for you and your daughter to celebrate. You have a wonderful evening.

Oh Cindy! You are a beautiful woman! Loved the whole show. I never get a chance to watch anything -with so many people in our home- but I "declared" that the tv was mine at 9:00! Also, I made everyone leave the room so they wouldn't talk during the show. I didn't want to miss one second of it. I'm so glad I got to see it. You should be very proud of yourself. (I would have celebrated too if it were me! Glad you made it a special time with your daughter. I bet she is so proud of you) Ivy

We recorded the show on our DVR because we were at bible study or on the way home when it was on. But we watched after we got home. It was so cool to see you on TV. I told my husband,"There she is" I recognized you and your home. What fun to be on HGTV.

THAT WAS A HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT!

I thought the build up all of this time about this show was going to be a program about YOU and not some other couple. I even talked my hubby into watching it.. and for what? A GLANCE?

I told him they must go on to your story afterwatds and then it ENDED!!!

Wow, I feel very misled. I'm sure your fans do too, even if they aren't saying so.

I have never been in front of a TV camera before and your home looked wonderful as always. The room they did was gorgeou! Wouldn't it be fun to have an outdoor area like that right outside your bedroom. I was laughing because the rug they used I almost bought at PB instead of the zebra one!!! Again, congrats!!

Cindy, Just add me to the list of ladies so excited to see your beautiful face on HGTV. I would have known your soft sweet voice anywhere. Just like I thought it would be. I must say that I believe the Rate My Space show could improve their rateings IF they would simply go to the top rated RMS homes, visit with the owners and let them tell their story. They could do maybe two or three in a 30 minute show. Remember Country at Home or Kitty Bartholomew's show, NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. We don't need another "fix it up" type show. We can go to the DIY Network for a full time dose of that stuff. Show us the simple beauty of the homes of every day people & let's start with yours! You rock girl. God Bless, Patty Ann
