Vintage Seam Binding

I went to the thrift store on my lunch hour on Monday and found all these rolls of vintage seam binding for only $4.00 total.
Someday I plan on getting artsy and try my hand at making some tags and bookmarks so these will come in handy.  Don't you just love that old packaging?

Also I found some good blogs recently.  Did you know Rachel Ashwell herself has started a blog?  Click here.

If it's a funny blog you are looking for then click here to see some poorly chosen photos from Real Estate Listings.  Now I understand why there are so many "fix your home up before you sell it" decorating shows on HGTV!  What are people thinking?  Shouldn't Real Estate Agents know better than to post these horrible photos?

  1. I love the old fonts and packaging. It would even look neat somehow displayed as an accessory. I love that blog with the real estate mishap photos!

  4. Ohhhh, I love your new find. I bought some at a thrift store a few months ago, but all of them were gray. I basically bought them for the wonderful packaging. They're still in the bag I bought them in. Oops!

  6. I just love vintage art on packaging. Sometimes I will buy something just for the art. Thanks for the heads up on the two new blogs you found. I took a quick peek at the real estate one and laughed out loud!

    It will be fun visiting.
There other famous people with blogs I've visited.

I don't know how my Realtor will make my parent home look any better. I guess it what you have to work with.

  9. OOOOOh!

I don't know why vintage sewing items just melt my heart. Maybe it's memories of my mom and my aunts. I don't know. Old buttons, seambinding, needlecases,
    they're just awesome.

    Thanks for posting these!

  15. Seam binding - I hadn't thought about seam binding in ages. I used to buy a lot of it. Making ribbon book markers out of it is an excellent idea. I'm off to the link you provided now.

  16. My oldest daughter has been a real estate agent for over a year. She insists that people do a certain amount of fixing up stuff she thinks is important before she will put her sign in the yard. And she gets results by doing that! I've already bookmarked Rachel's site to check out.

  28. Thanks for letting us know about those blogs. They were inspiring in different ways, for sure. And your white room photos above are lovely. I have always love rooms with a single color, but I just can't seem to be that restrained with color. What a lovely, refreshing effect, though, to do all white!
