When I saw the recipe for Palmier Cookies on Lidy's French Garden House blog last week I knew right away I wanted to make them! Then I saw that Andrea at Under a Blue Moon beat me to it! I guess this is going to be one of those things that sweeps through blogland like a virus...only it's a really good sweet and oh-so-yummy virus! These are so easy and so delicious! I took them to work earlier this week and quite a few people walked up and said "You MADE these?" Haha....little did they know that they were so easy! Impressive but easy...that's the kind of recipes I like! Thank you Lidy!

I'm not much of a baker, but sometimes during the holidays I like to make cookies. These would be right up my alley. I would like to find out if the pastry sheets have wheat flour {probably do} as I'd love to eat these myself {can't have gluten though}. I'll have to check the box when I go to the supermarket. Thanks for sharing!

Oh, I might have to check those out. I saw a savory version of these in Ina Garten's Back to Basics cookbook this week. I've been cooking out of it a lot lately. They looked SO YUMMY! I'm glad to hear they are easy. I bet they're gone already!

I went and looked at the recipe, but I got confused with what you actually fold over like a book. I would sure like to try them! (I generally buy them at Sam's Club!)
ReplyDeleteAshlin, you fold each end over about 1/4 of the way towards the middle and then you fold those folds so they meet in the middle and then you take one side and fold it so it's on top of the other...that's the folding like a book. There are also some videos on youtube.com that show you how to fold them.

Thanks, Cindy! I read that and I could see where the folds on each side were occurring, but could not see where one side folded over like a book. Thanks for the tip about You Tube. You're terrific!
ReplyDeleteOk, I may make these this weekend, these are by far my favorite cookies in the entire world. When I was a kid, we used to go to a bakery in Cape May, New Jersey that made really big ones and called them Elephant Ears. mmmmmmmm!
