Even More Christmas Decorating

I made a wreath for my living room mirror by pulling a wire coat hanger into a circle and wiring on branches that I cut off the bottom of my Christmas tree. A free wreath...you can't beat that! The ribbon I used to hang it from was a garage sale find last summer. Once the wreath gets too dried out I'll replace it with an artificial one.
My paperwhites are growing like crazy. I took the photo below last weekend and they are a lot bigger than this now. I can hardly wait until they start blooming! I'm going to plant some more soon because I love to have them blooming after Christmas when all the Christmas decorations have been packed up and put away. That's the time of year I start dreaming about Spring!

  4. You are one extremely talented woman! Your home is so beautiful and your fine picture taking shows it off so well. Take for example this picture of your wreath on the mirror. You can see your beautiful decorated Christmas tree reflected in the mirror which enhances the photo even more. My hubby took out our tripod and set it up for me so I can start to TRY to take pictures of our Christmas decorations. My draft blog is still a DRAFT but maybe one of these days I can get it ready to publish. Now if I could just take some decent photos to post....

  12. That looks so pretty and I love the reflection in the mirror! You brought back memories of when my son was little and I went to the tree farm and asked them if I could have all the branches they had cut off and I wired all of them together to make garland , my son sat next to me on my front porch just watching me,ahhhh memories, then I draped them over all my windows, the house smelled so good!! Love the paperwhites also, so pretty!

  22. Hi Cindy,
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the dining room tree. It is the cutest, most clever thing I have ever seen. I do not celebrate Xmas, but if I did..... I cannot believe how awesome your tree is. It should be in a magazine. It is just really the cutest thing I've ever seen. And the base! The base! Oh my goodness! It's just too much! I love the plates and cups and silverware enough that I have to figure out how to hang more things like that in and around my house permanently.

  45. Dear Miss Cindy,

I so enjoy your one of a kind ornaments. I have been given ornaments for years before I was even 20 years old from several family members. I never have to use store bought ornaments... because I have so many original ornaments. I also have many "antique" Christmas ornaments. I will take a picutre of it once I get it out for our decorating, but I have an ornament that was on my maternal Grandfather and Grandmother's first Christmas tree from 1918. It's some kind of pear ornament. It's the coolest piece of my history ever. I think it's great.

You have done a great job on your decorating. I can understand the idea of not wanting red in your decorating. I tend to use many tones of greens and burgundy colors. I'm not a big fan of bright Christmas Red. The only natural red that gets in the house is lights, or berries on my holly twigs.

Thank you for sharing so much of yourself with all of us. I so much appreciate it. It's wonderful.

    Hugs,
    PS
