Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!
This week at work we had a baby shower for a coworker expecting a little girl. We were decorating a conference room for the shower and I thought it would be nice to have some pink roses. I brought in this little bouquet holder that I bought at the Alameda Antique Faire many years ago. Then I picked some roses that are growing along the parking lot of my company! There must over 50 of these rose bushes and the roses are starting to dry out so I didn't see any harm in picking a few. Every day when I take my lunch time walk I pass by these and I always want to pick some! I can't believe I finally had the nerve to do it!
I decided to bring the bouquet home and placed it on my bedside table! Amazing what a little pink did in my bedroom! It makes me smile every time I walk in there!
It just adds such a romantic touch!
I wish I could afford to buy fresh flowers for every room in my apartment every week! Now that the rent in Silicon Valley is sky-rocketing, I can barely afford rent so buying flowers every week is a luxury I can no longer justify!
I still haven't decided if I should paint the gold mirror I found awhile back on Craigslist or leave it gold...
Seashells and roses...the perfect combination against my white bedroom! I love the beach cottage look! The Pacific Ocean is a 30 minute drive away but when I'm home I feel like I'm near the ocean!
At night when I go to sleep I can hear the traffic going by and it sounds a little like waves rolling in but you just don't get that sound of the waves crashing as they hit the shore...I still fall asleep every night pretending its the sound of the ocean not the sound of cars! haha!
My bedroom is an ongoing project but I'm finally getting to the look I want. I just wish I could add a crystal chandelier but I'm not allowed to hang anything from the ceiling in my apartment!

Your bedroom is dreamy! I've been scoping out places myself where it really would not be wrong to pick roses. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love that you pretend the traffic noises are waves on the beach. I would so do that! Glad you picked the roses - it was a good cause.
ReplyDeleteThanks you Cindy for hosting a great party. I love your bed pillows and your flowers are beautiful! Jo

Your bedroom is beautiful. I felt like I just took a relaxing short vacation looking at it. It was a sweet brief respite in a busy life.
ReplyDeleteI just love your bedroom, Cindy - so pretty. The roses look really pretty too - I think they were meant to be yours!
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is absolutely gorgeous, Cindy! Thank you so much for hosting! Have an awesome weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are beautiful. I cannot afford flowers every week either so I have little extremely expensive silk flower arrangements in special containers. The original cost is crazy but over the long term they cost pennies.
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is absolutely charming!
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI have an easy solution to your chandelier idea. I overcame it in a past home by hanging it as a swag lamp from the ceiling. I used a molly bolt (the butterfly type)and had the chain swag from the center to over by my nightstand and down to a plug in the wall. I turned it on/off with a switch on the cord by my bed. Then I covered the chain with a tube of scrunched fabric. Easily done with a ladder. Then it can hang to a perfect height in the room and removed easily with one hole to fill in the ceiling after pushing the screw up inside. Maybe this would work for you, as well. Thanks for sharing your lovely ideas with us.

That's how I hung my chandelier in my bedroom in my old apartment but I'm not allowed to put holes in the ceiling here.

Cindy, what a lovely bedroom! And I really like your positive attitude, choosing to imagine traffic noise as the sound of the ocean! I would leave the mirror gold. (I didn't add a link, not sure it qualified as home or garden--it's my banana pudding recipe and a giveaway of a Le Creuset pan.)
ReplyDeleteWhoa! The shade is clean and comfortable to look at. How come I just stumble upon here? I’m inspired to make my own room this clean and light! Love and cheers!
