Now that Christmas is over I'm ready for Spring!!!  It happens every year at this time for me! It's a good thing I live in sunny California!  It actually hasn't been very sunny here, it been raining a lot lately but the sun was out today so I went to the garden center and bought some flowers for my garden.  These are all winter and early spring flowers here.

I started working in my little garden this afternoon. It's a bit of a muddy mess but it was fun. I pruned all my roses, transplanted a lemon bush from a pot to the ground and raked up all the old tan bark I had under the plants. It's still a mess out there so I have to get up and finish it tomorrow. Tomorrow I'll plant the flowers and add the fresh tan bark. The tan bark keeps Beau from getting all muddy when he goes out it the yard!  

One of my New Year's resolutions this year is to keep up with my yard work! I sort of let it go last year because I was always gone on the weekends.  This summer I want to have a beautiful patio again.

I love gardening...or maybe I should say I love having a pretty garden. I could do without the weeding and trimming but the results are worth the hard work!

My yard is very small but it does make it a lot more manageable that a large one!

I love violas and pansies!   

I can hardly wait until Spring now to plant some of the flowers that come out then!

I'm finally was able to take some photos of my little apartment all decorated for Christmas during the daylight!  ...oops I forgot to move that paper bag next dresser before I took these photos!

I did another winter wonderland tablescape in all white again this year.

I love the reflection of the Christmas tree in my living room mirror.

This is my new (used) Ikea slipcovered chair I found on Craigslist for $50. I'm on the look out for another just like it!

With all the leaves off the tree on my back patio I get so much light now...

This year I did something new...I made a blue and white candy bar...

This is the tablecloth that belonged to my mom that my dad gave me at Thanksgiving. I have another one she gave me awhile back that is very similar...

Since this is the last Show and Tell until after Christmas I decided to share it all today!

The presents are starting to pile up under our Christmas tree! 

Is it just me or do the sales this time of year seem to get better and better each year?  Every day I'm getting emails about all these great sales going on!  It's so tempting because you don't even have to leave your comfy couch...you can just click away and shop without the hassle of the crowded stores!   I love that more and more places are opening online stores!

My New Floors! - Show and Tell Friday

If you've been reading my blog for awhile you know that my landlord has been promising me that she would put wood laminate floors in my apartment for the last few years! Well, it finally happened and I'm so excited! I've lived here almost 10 years and my carpet was so worn out and stained that I really lost interest in doing anything around my house! I didn't even like cleaning it because it never looked clean because the carpet was so bad!  Last week the floors got installed and I feel inspired again! It's amazing the difference it made!  

The floors inspired me so much that I went on Craigslist and bought that white slip-covered chair that matches my Ikea slip-covered sofa. The best part...it was only $50 and came with two sets of slip covers. I'll share more photos of it soon!

I'm just finishing up my Christmas decorating so I plan on taking some more photos on the weekend when I have some natural light.  When I go to work the sun is just coming up and it's already dark by the time I get home so I have to wait until the weekend!

It's been a hectic week but a really good week!  My new wood laminate floors are being installed as I type this! It was so much work getting everything cleared out of my downstairs so they could do it!

That is why I'm resharing some cookies I made a few seasons ago!
