Happy Wednesday!

Hi everyone!  As you can see I still have roses growing in my garden!  Even my Eden rose has buds! I'm hoping they bloom before the weather gets too cold.

I thought I would give you an update on my job search.  I've sent out over 30 resumes and I've only received two responses.  One was from a temp agency which I don't want to do yet. I will consider temping if I don't have a job by February.  The other response was from a Fortune 500 company that I would love to work for!  I have phone interview with the recruiter next Tuesday! Funny thing just happened as I was typing that last sentence...the recruiter called me by mistake, she had meant to call someone named Maria!  That was bizarre!

I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!  I'll be back tomorrow evening for Show and Tell Friday! Hmmm...I need to go find something to share!!!

  1. Ooo! Good luck with the interview! Job hunting can be so tedious and nerve racking. Jobs seem to be scarce when you need them, but if you're not looking they sometimes fall in your lap.

  5. Oh my gosh, I've been so out of it with my blog reading lately...I had no idea you'd been laid off. I'm sorry to hear that, times are tough and it's even tougher with the high California prices.

I really hope you find a job soon! I'm off to click the heck out of your ads...every little bit helps right:)

    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  10. Cindy,
First of all, a beautiful post, as always. Second, briefly, I took an early retirement in 2008 and moved to Costa Rica and became a surfer..at 54! That gig didn't play out as I had hoped, so I moved back to the States and needed a job pretty quickly. I temped with an employment agency for a few weeks and they found me crazy wonderful job full time job with excellent benefits. Stay positive and you will attract all good things. Happy Thanksgiving.

  14. Gorgeous Roses! I have just picked some from my mums garden to do a post on crystallised rose petals for decorating cakes. I took some photos of the roses I picked (before I pull the petals off :(. They are in a silver jug but you have inspired me to do another photo in my favourite Royal Albert tea cup and saucer.

    Thank you for your inspiration.

  16. Cindy,
I signed up with a temp after I was downsized. In 2 1/2 yrs., only missed about 2 weeks total pay days. And, my last temp job is now my permanent job for 3 years. My company said they love to place temps as all the testing has been done for them.
