Still Feeling Pink!

So...yesterday for Valentine's Day, almost every woman at work came in with a red sweater or blouse and black pants!  I either never really noticed that the majority of women do this or maybe this is a new trend. This will never work for me....I don't own ANYTHING red!  Pink I love, red not so much!

I could be wrong but it seems like you are either a PINK person or a RED person...am I wrong? Is it not that black and white? ha!

I love pink! LOVE IT!! You probably already figured that out though...

I don't even decorate for Christmas with RED so it's not surprising that when I think of Valentine's Day I think of PINK, not RED!  I don't even like RED roses, I prefer pink ones!

I think the only thing that's been in my home that is red were these RED Velvet Cupcakes I made awhile back.  I actually think they would look more appetizing if they were pink though...

Are you a red person, or a pink person...or maybe both or neither? I'm just curious...

  1. Cindy, I'm much more of a pink person as well. I don't decorate with red, and I really don't wear it either because I hate the way (some) reds run in the wash! haha ... Donna

  4. Oh...I'm a pink person for sure. I have told boyfriends do not bother getting me red roses...I don't like them. I want pink or actually coral colored ones. I love the deep orangy pink ones like Tropicana.

I never wear red...ever... But I love to wear pink.

  5. I am pink~Pink~PINK!!!!!
I do not dislike red, just prefer pink!
I do have a little "vintage red" in my cottage style kitchen, but most rooms in my home have PINK in them!

  8. As a brunette, both colors work for me in clothing...red in the winter and pink all year long. I especially love wearing hot pink in the summer and always get a ton of compliments when I have something on in that shade.

In decorating, I much prefer pink in my own home. Although I always swoon over red in other people's homes, I tried it and found I got really tired of its intensity quickly. Pastels (of almost any color) soothe my soul.

I always tend to think of you as a blue lover so I'm always surprised to see how many beautiful pink things you have in your collection of pretties. If you ever get to the point where you're not feeling the pinks anymore, I'd love to take some of them off your hands! :)

  9. Definitely pink, in fact, my husband teases me that he can do whole loads of laundry that are pink. Having said that, I will sometimes, in my artwork, pop the pink by tossing in a tiny bit of red. :) Just a tiny bit, because I adore Pink. :)

  10. Hello! A friend introduced me to your beautiful blog a few days ago! It is so very lovely! I enjoy visiting and seeing what lovely things you have to show each day!
I hope you had a nice Valentine's Day. I am pink girl myself. I decorate for Christmas with soft pinks and creams...no red for me!
    Have a great day!

  11. Totally pink, always. However, I do look good in red so I do wear it. It's difficult to decorate my house for Valentine's day because it pretty much is covered in pink roses and cupids all the time.

  12. Hi Cindy, Beautiful pictures, no one takes pictures like you do! Pink! Bedoom is blush pink and it feels like summer all year long. Pink looks beautiful on you too! Hugs, Joyce

  13. My choice depends on how I'm using the color. For my wardrobe and home, I love deep, deep reds; however, I don't dislike
the color pink and think it is definitely more romantic and femine. I do love the way pink roses photograph...red on the other hand are too somber.

  14. I think I'm neither a red nor a pink person! I don't wear or decorate with either that much. I have a little bit of pink around but it's minimal. I veer more toward the wine/burgundy color. But when you do pink it's a different story, everything you do looks amazing!!!

  16. I'm definitely PINK, but I haven't always been pink. When I was younger blue in any shade was THE colour. I don't wear or decorate with red much at all because it isn't a pastel colour. I love pastels :-)

  22. Pink! I look horrible in red although I did have red hair at one time - more auburn. I have to agree: you are either pink or red. Not both!

  24. Sweet post. I guess I am a red. I don't own much pink. I do have to say you have what I think is the most precious header in all of blogland.

  25. Cindy, I love both red and pink! Just about any color pink and only those reds that have alot of blue in them. I can't wear tomato red.

I just enjoy your blog so. And the pictures of all the china just about leave me breathless. Why should china have that affect on me..it's the roses. Soooo beautiful. God Bless!

  33. Hi Cindy! I "found" your blog a while back and I'm so glad I did. I've looked at your pictures over and over again and each time I am inspired. I love both red and pink. I decorate more w/ red and other bright colors but I could so love living in your home too! Thanks for the beautiful pictures and for being a constant source of inspiration! Jana in Texas

  34. Hi Cindy, I love pink too and the way you combine it with cream and light blue is perfection. You grow the most incredible pink roses also. Love those pink beads, I know they look beautiful on you for sure!!! Take good care, Sandy

  43. I was so into pink I went thru two
pink handbags in a year wearing them everyday and I started a rose
garden and my first two plants were
pink. Now, I like red, too. I put in a red and white rose- looks like peppermint candy. I still like pink but I wear a little red now and then.

  44. I love both. I tend to wear some red in the winter and pink in the summer.

  45. I definitely love pink! I'm just not drawn to red, plus I don't look good in it. I have several items of clothing that are different shades of pink, and I have lots of pink accents in my home.

  46. Cindy, beautiful pinks here! I have to admit, I'm both. We have lots of red in our home, but pink pops up frequently. Pink tulips at the moment!

I didn't think about it until I saw your lovely roses on the china.

  53. LOL @ you. FUN!!!! I bet that was fun doing all that! I am a pink person to although I have used red at Christmas time but pink is MUCH prettier! lol I could just SEE my hubby if I decorated in all pink one Christmas! ;) I only have one red blouse that doesn't get worn much at all and I have a red dress but it has large black flowers in it.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Pink!
Don't own anything red, and like you, do not decorate Christmas with red.
I have a special dislike of red and black combined together in an outfit. Very, very few women can wear this combination. Looks hard and cheap...

  55. I love pink!! In fact - I have some of the same 1880's dishes. Love you 'pink' post!

  56. I love red, but pink is my least favorite color, I never thought of the pink vs red conomdrum ( how DO you spell that word??) before, but I think you are right...it IS one or the other ;)

  57. Hi Cindy,

I am a red person. I like pink but don't feel like I wear it well. I use to decorate in pink and burgundy but when we bought new furniture we went with the Victorian red and gold. I love it. I have Christy Repasy pictures in both pinks and reds on my walls. They all blend perfectly. BUT the reds are my favorites. Have a great day! Your photos are the best. Love to know what camera you use?????

  58. Since red is not your favorite color, I have a suggestion for your cupcakes. How about strawberry cakemix (it makes pink cake). Try with cream cheese or vanilla frosting. Even more yummy than red velvet cake!

  59. One more comment Cindy. I have put your show and tell Friday button my my blog but it is huge (not the size pictured on your page). How can I fix that? Have any suggestions?

  60. Hello Cindy, I love pink too, and every year I tell my husband that I love pink flowers and he still buys red ones. I even painted a little french chest in my hallway pink and I love it. Have a great day. Beverley

  62. Pink all the way followed by purple, I would never wear red.As a matter of fact, I tend to like all the pastel colours and not like the basic colours especially when it comes to clothing.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I have to say I'm a both...but maybe leaning a little more towards red.

    xx,

  64. RED!!! Pink is OK, but RED is beautiful, empowering and bold. I want red crepe myrtles in the front of the house. I LOVE RED!!!

    ReplyDelete
  65. I love red! My kitchen is red, turquoise and sunshine yellow. I use a lot of fiesta dishes. Pink washes me out, so I don't wear it. But, I love to see other people in pink.
The one color I do not use in decorating is blue - for some reason, I just can't do it!

  66. OOOOOOOOOOOh, I am definately a pink person. I've also heard that you are either a green or blue person.....me green. What are you?

  76. I LOVE pink,,, but I like red a lot. Pink is my comfort color,, but to be honest, I don't decorate much with it,,, nor wear a lot of it. Weird me. My fav roses are definitely pink MUCH more than red no matter what the occasion; after that comes yellow roses.
But the only teacups and teapots I collect have pink roses in them,,, well, I do have one lavender one. :)
