Decorating for Fall

I finally started changing out the summery decor in my home for my fall and winter look. The seashells have been put away...which was so hard for me to do, and the pastel plates have been replaced with my blue and white transferware turkey dishes.
I prefer the other look but change is always nice!

This is a nice change but I'm really looking forward to Christmas decorating!!!

  1. I know what you mean. In the UK its as if summer never really got going so to see it 'put away' hmmm. That said I love autumn/fall and the cosy dark nights..... anyway, like you say change is good!

  4. I know what you mean Cindy. The colors in my home definitely lean more toward white, blues and the summery 'beachy' look. I just can't bring myself to decorate with oranges & browns. I do nothing until after Thanksgiving, and then I bring out my Christmas decorations which are....hmmmm white & aqua! Even have a white tree with blown glass seashells, starfish, etc. Your house looks lovely though. No matter what you do, it always is gorgeous. Sue

  16. Oh Cindy, Your place looks wonderful. Do you feel like it is fall? Here in the great white North it has felt like fall for a month. I think it would be difficult to decorate for a cooler season when it is still so nice and warm. We don't have that problem here! LOL I love the silver tray chalk board stuck in there amongst the china and chrystal. Everything looks so beautiful! Hugs, Cindy S.

  19. Hi, Cindy!
Silly question .... what is the "stuff" in the white tiered piece? Having a hard time identifying everything, but it looks WONDERFUL!
    Hugs!

  20. Sammy girl (Betty), it's just a mixture of stuff that came in a cellophane bag. It's like a potpourri type of thing. I'm not sure what some of the stuff is either. There are different types of pods in there and some other stuff.

  25. Me too, Cindy! The only thing that made me change to mellow autumn colors without kicking and screaming was our thirty degree temperature drop which made me feel like curling up with a good book and a cup of green tea while enjoying a warm fire. This summer was sooo wonderful that I hate to see it end.

  31. It certainly is beautiful Cindy. Look over there!!!! You didn't see that, but I just helped myself to your candy jar.
I usually go from my regular decor right to Christmas decor, not because I don't like Fall, but because I'm just plain lazy.
But I love looking at yours.
    Hugs,
    June
