I recently found a great online fabric store! It's called Fabric Guru. Some of their fabrics are sold by the yard but the great deals seem to be on the buy it "by the piece" items. I got 9 yards of this fabric for $45. I'm either going to use it for drapes or to cover two tufted slipper chairs I found on the side of the road.
You and my sister would get along wonderfully. She too finds things on the side of the road, and loves fabric and can actually sew and sew really well.

SO VERY PRETTY....IT WOULD MAKE BEAUTIFUL DRAPES AND MAYBE IT COULD HAVE ENOUGH LEFT OVER TO MAKE SOME THROW PILLOWS FOR YOUR COUCH.
THE CHAIRS WOULD ALSO LOOK BEAUTIFULLY COVERED IN IT......MAYBE YOU COULD DO CURTAINS, THROW PILLOWS AND AN OTTAMAN WITH BEAUTIFUL FRINGE

I stopped by an out-of-town petshop today and saw they had society finches (brown and white markings, like yours). The only thing that stopped me from getting them was the fact that I don't have a cage yet:)
