More on Cambridge Glass

I was recently asked to be a contributor to The Vintage Journal blog.   I'm very honored to be part of this collaborative blog of talented women!   I will be posting about once or twice a month over there but nothing will change here at My Romantic Home.     I love this pattern. I wish that I had started collecting it years ago. It is so feminine. Congrats on you invitation. You are just pushing out of your comfort zone on into better and bigger things! Yay for you. It is so fun to watch this all happen.

    I have several of these glasses boxed away. I purchased them when I was in high school from my aunt's neighbor's garage sale. I have seen them going for $50 each at antique shows. I also purchased a box of miss matched silverware, which I also still have.

    I think I have seen glass like this, but never knew what it was called. Thank you for the education and good luck on your new post. I also hope your get the HGTV spot. You deserve it.

    That is really pretty Cindy. My Grand Mother had some beautiful etched glasses and I wanted to get more to fill in the gaps from the ones that had broken over the years...but it was not something labeled or specific like this - so I was never able to find matching pieces. :0(

    I too love this glass ever since my sister introduced it to me. She has a lovely set of glasses she uses everyday. She was lucky enough to find the set in a thrift shop. I have been looking ever since for my set of these.

    I collect Cambridge glass - Chantilly pattern. It belonged to my mother. There are some beautiful dishes, bowls, platters and candleholders by Cambridge. I love it!

    Hi Cindy! I love that pattern too. It looks like "lace" etched in the glass. So romantic and pretty. I have 3 of those exact glasses in your photo. I found them at the flea market, but the edges are chipped out and you can't drink from them, so I use them as beautiful little flower vases. xoxo ~ Joy

    I hope you are resting and reading about your beautiful Cambridge glass treasures. I used to live in Ohio close to where Cambridge used to be made. The antiques shops around Cambridge, Ohio are filled with these beauties. The text, The Cambridge Glass Company, lists all the glass made from 1949-1953. Also Gene Florence has written many editions on Elegant Glassware of the Depression Era.
