HGTV is looking for amateur designers for a new show where HGTV fans can be a "HGTV Designer for a Day" Guess what? I'm applying for it! You get to work along side an HGTV host to make over a room! I think Joan Steffend from "Decorating Cents" would be the best fit for me! How much fun would that be???
Part of me sees this as an exciting opportunity but another part of me says it's way too scary and I'm out of my league. I'm going for it though because I'm all about living life to the fullest! You never know what your full potential can be unless you push yourself! Right?
Cindy, this is an AWESOME idea! Good for you for taking the chance. Lots of people wouldn't. I can see you working with Joan, that would be a really good match. Good luck!
ReplyDelete--Ali
Cindy...this is great...go for it! I hope you get it, too! :-) Susan
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I'm pulling for you.
ReplyDeleteI am so the opposite of you, Cindy, so thank goodness I can live vicariously through you! You were so calm on the RMS TV show... When I'm nervous I talk too fast and my voice gets high-pitched and I stutter! You'll get it for sure with your decorating talent and with your natural ease in front of a camera!...Donna @ An Enchanted Cottage
ReplyDeleteGood luck Cindy! Who knows this could be the start of something BIG!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Joanne
OMGosh, that is so neat! I'm excited for you. Just to have the chance and GIFT to apply is wonderful. You know we are all rooting for you. 'Our' favorite decorator already! The best part of the whole thing is -- that YOU CAN DO IT! Your that good. Praying your dreams come true.
ReplyDeleteWendy

Cindy, I think you would be FABULOUS in that!!! Is there a contact person at HGTV who we can email to lobby for you? I know we would all LOVE to see you on a show like that. :)
ReplyDeletexoxo,
mary
In no way is this out of your league. Believe me, I have seen what some "designers" do on some of those show, and you would bring much more class in your style. I hope you get it.
ReplyDeleteGood for you Cindy! That's why you are so interesting to us all-you're not afraid to try something.
ReplyDeleteYep, live it to the fullest.
ReplyDeleteYou can never tell.
Ciao
Go for it.
ReplyDeleteThis is so exciting, Cindy, but I truly think you under-estimate your talents. You may not be a "trained professional" but in many ways, you are better because you have an amazing natural gift for creating beauty that can't be taught in a classroom. Put your power of positive thinking to work here girl and expect to dazzle those HGTV people just like you have all of your many blog and RMS fans. Best wishes and I do hope you are chosen because I would love to see you get the recognition you are so deserving of!
ReplyDeleteYou go girl, I think you would be grrrreat. Your home looks better that anything I have seen on HGTV and I watch all the good shows. I'll be pulling for you. Wouldn't Joan be fun to work with, I think she is so laid back and down to earth. I'll be putting good vibs out for you.
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Pat

ReplyDeleteTake the risk! I bet you'll be all sorts of happy that you did!
Years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the tradewinds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover"

You'll be absolutely brilliant at this!!! Dare I say perfect!! If they check out your blog and the comments you get, they'll know they're on to a good thing. Good luck.

Cindy,
ReplyDeleteCongrats - Leaving a comfort zone allows for growth! I'm very proud of you for taking this step.
You certainly have the talent and style to do a great job!
I am new to your site for about a month and I luv it!!! I'm always calling my husband to come and see what I've discovered on it. I am doing my headboard and footboard like the white one you did with the cupid on it. Only I have to wait for one of my boys to move out so I can have a guest bedroom. I am also now hunting down finds at Goodwill, Salvation Army and garage sales. You have turned my creative mind back on after having five kids. Thanks!!! I hope you get your own show!!!!
ReplyDeleteI will soooooooo be pulling for you for hgtv!!! what do you have to do to be selected?

ReplyDeleteAlright ! Good luck to you!
ReplyDeleteYAY, Cindy! And thanks for telling me about it, I had no idea it was happening. Like I told you, I sent my application in too, but I don't think I'll blog about it yet. I bet they will be inundated with people trying to get in there, so I'm not going to hold my breath either, but wouldn't it be fun if we both got picked?!
