It's more like I'm obsessed with Martha's Vineyard! When run across photos like these, my heart skips a beat! I found these on Flickr and got permission to share these with you. Click here to see a lot more of her photos from Martha's Vineyard. (thank you cafechatelaine for letting me use your photos)
These are from illumination night which took place last Wednesday, August 20th. It's annual tradition where all the adorable gingerbread cottages in the Oak Bluffs campground hang lanterns from their cottages. Someday I'm going to plan a visit to see this! Can you imagine how beautiful this must be at night! There are over 300 cottages in the campground so I'm sure it is a beautiful sight to walk through and see.
There are a lot of photos of Illumination Night on Flickr...click here to see them (I just realized that not all the photos that show up in this search are from MV but they are still pretty). If that's not enough you can visit MV Obsession (click here) and visit a blogger that is more obsessed with Martha's Vineyard than me. Trust me, if I lived on the East Coast I would be vacationing there a lot more often!
Makes me want to hop right on a plane (if I wasn't afraid to fly) and go there.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.

What a pretty place!!

Cindy I so enjoyed your last 4 posts... I'm going to cheat and comment for all here!
ReplyDeleteWOW, MV looks fantastic.. and those lanterns. What a neat idea. Would definitely be a site to see!
I do remember your tablescape pics, you certainly have a knack too! The starfish atop the cups are just too clever.
Awesome plant stand. Your ivy topiari looks fab to me. Do you have issues with spider mites? I always get them on ivy.
The wreath is just beautiful. I'll be anxious to see what's growing there too!
Awesome vintage sewing find! They will make great tags and such. Yes, the old lables are too cool.
Beautiful! Someday I want to go there! Or let me say it this way I am going to go there someday!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day,
ginger

Wow, to live in a home like that. SO timeless and beautiful. I wonder if they appreciate it as much as we do. I hope so-I hope they sit outside and enjoy their beautiful homes. Other wise they should just give them to us. LOL!
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy - thank you for the mention on your blog today. I am MV Obsession and I AM obsessed with the Vineyard. My mother was from there and I've been going there all my life.

I love the east coast too. . . it's especially beautiful in the fall. But then, each and every state seems to have their own good and unique qualities as well.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sher

I have never been there but those pics certainly make me want to go. How beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSince I live in NH we are able to go to MV easily and have many times. My daughter's favorite thing to do is go on the tour they do on Saturday mornings of the Oak Bluffs cottages. What a treat to see the insides. If you ever go back make sure you do that. And if you ever go back I'll meet you there for some fun!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat an Absolutely beautiful place. It is easy to see why you love it so much. I'm ready to visit now! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend,
Jen

ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Seriously, I did not know about this custom and I think the whole nation should do it! So fluffy and soft looking. Thanks for sharing this, Cindy.
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! We have a traditional lantern in our neighborhood and lots of us have them on every night but NOTHING like this. Just beautiful.

ReplyDeleteI love Martha's Vineyard too! I vacationed there a few years ago in the Oak Bluffs area but we drove all over the island from one end to the other. It was in ealry October so there were less crowds but the weather was still beautiful. I'd love to go back again soon, and also hop over to Nantucket.
ReplyDeleteThanks!

Dear Cindy,
ReplyDeleteOh I have to go back and read this again but .. it is soo beautiful what they have done and I agree, to be there in person for this must be breathtaking. So very beautiful and thank you for finding these and showing us them!
Oh, just finished reading your post. I am thinking you now live on the west coast? Do they have anything like this say on/in Coronado?
With Kindness,
