Thank you all so much for a comments yesterday. I know I should have ignored that person and in the future I'm going to try to do that!
I'm still going through a little bit of a blogger's block and I realized yesterday it's because I haven't been buying any pretties and I haven't been working on any projects lately and that seems to be what my blog is all about! But, I also always try to show you something that I think is beautiful so here's another mosaic made from photos I found on flickr (the middle photo is mine though). I think I could start a blog called mosaic of the day...I just love making these! If you ever were curious how to make one you can just click here.
I'm so happy it's a 3-day weekend. It was 101 degrees here yesterday but it's supposed to cool down tomorrow. I've been taking a break from my many projects I have lined up but I plan to get back at it this weekend and paint my two chairs below....you'll have to come back to see if I painted them white....or blue! Or maybe I should work on the bathroom wallpaper project...
Edited to add: Click here for the story behind the chair above.
Oh so soothing! I love the Blues, Cindy!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you decide for the chairs. I sure could use some painting motivation right now. Maybe they'll do the trick!
Love your mosaic!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Will you adopt me as a blank canvas and make my home pretty???? I'm such a failure. Your mosaic is so pretty and I think I like your blog better than mine! *grin*!

Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI love the blue collage too! I am working on my blog, and I was wondering, can I use any pictures on flickr for my blog, to put on my sidebar, or do I need permission to use them? As long as I don't claim them as my own. Do you need permission to make a collage also? thanks :)
Debbie from nj: Yes you do need permission to use photos on flickr. I don't ask for permsission for the mosaics I make because if you click on the photo it will take you to the person's flickr page, therefore I am not saying they are my photos. If Flickr users don't want their photos used in mosaics they can opt out of that and you will find that when you upload their photos into mosaicmaker it will come out as a blank space.
ReplyDeleteCindy,
ReplyDeleteI have always loved the blue hydrangeas on your banner page! Love the mosaic you've created, too.
Cool and blue. Beautiful!
I always love the pictures from your blue bedroom with the plates on the wall. Ignore any negative postings. We are not sheep, but sincere admirers of your talent and creativity. Keep up the wonderful work you do with your blog. We appreciate you.
ReplyDeleteI do love blues even though my favorite colors are red and yellow. I just picked up a yummy blue today for a project. Those chairs are so gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link on the mosaic - I've never made one and I'll give it a try over the weekend.
Manuela
Loved the whites and the blues too!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous blues. Thank you for the link on how to do those mosaics. I love them and look forward to learning how to do them!
ReplyDeleteYesterday I was telling my hubby about that person and the comments. You did handle it well. The pictures spoke a thousand words too. I wish I could change my front room to white, but right now I have to enjoy what I have--before I fell in love with whites.
ReplyDeleteThat first chair is to die for. Wow! Where did you find it? The blue pictures are gorgeous too. Love the blue house and the hydrangeas. Have a fab weekend.
Wendy
Hi Cindy,
ReplyDeletewhite/blue???
Oh, I don´t know, everything you show us is absolutely beautiful. And EVERYTHING looks friendly, warm and cosy.
Lots of greetings from Germany and have a nice weekend!!
Sabine
Those are gorgeous pics. I think I like yours the best!
ReplyDeleteThose chairs are so beautiful. Anxious to see what you do to them!
ReplyDeleteHave fun playing with them this weekend.
~Jill
I adore blue! Thank you so much for the beautiful pictures. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI think the "whites" are beautiful. But to me, nothing surpasses the serenity of "blues." I don't know why someone coined the phrase: having the blues, and it has a negative connotation. Because when I think of blues, it makes me feel peaceful and happy.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
hi cindy,
ReplyDeletethanks for showing the link on hoe to make the collage--beautiful pics! i can't wait to see your chair all finished
Cindy ~
ReplyDeleteOnce again a beautiful mosaic. I love that blue upholstered chair.

Maybe it's these old eyes of mine, but that Bergere chair looks pretty good as is; however, I know it'll be spectaculer once it gets the Cindy touch! Have a lovely weekend... ;-) Bo
ReplyDeleteYeah bring on the blues! we are finally going to work on our bedroom this weekend, and yep it's going to be blue. it's been a looong process and not over yet. can't wait for it to be done!!
ReplyDeleteI love your chairs and can't wait to see what you do with them ;)
Have a lovely creative weekend. Hugs, Jannet
Wow! I love your bergere chair! I've wanted one (or some) for so long! I almost had a pair too, but my husband didn't like them. They were secondhand bargains too. I can't wait to see how yours turns out! I think you're right, Cindy, about blog material- the more you are doing, the more you want to share it. I love your mosaics, btw. Thanks for sharing the link- I'm off to go try my hand!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I bet you paint them white and cover then with white/blue fabric. Just my guess :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sher
I love these collages. They are the design world's version of a Godiva sampler. Your picture, the one in the center, is my favorite. I hope you have a great weekend doing the things you love to do.Can't wait to see the chairs!
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI love your blues collage! Hope you have a great long weekend!
diane
love looking at your mosaics.... so refreshing and pretty!!! have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link for the mosaics, I think I will be making a mosaic of my mosaics. The chair will be fabulous in blue or white. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy holiday weekend Cindy and try to stay cool.
ReplyDeleteJanet
Hi Cindy , I LOVE the style of your first chair in this post ! It will be so elegant when you get through with it !
ReplyDeletePay no attention to anyone who won't sign their identity. In fact, ignore them completely . . . my guess is they have little or no talent or they would see yours. While people have different tastes, acknowledging talent doesn't mean saying you agree with someone else's taste. YOU have it, not frosty!!
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy!! OOOH, I love the blue too! I used to have so much blue in my home, but it's almost gone now. Those chairs! I'll be waiting to see what you do to them. Have a wonderful long weekend.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Ooh, these blues are so beautiful. I really got into blues this summer. Now it's time to start taking the blue stuff down and replace with Fall colors, but I'm not ready to let the blue go yet! (Not ready to let summer go, either, actually.)
ReplyDeleteYour blog is always so lovely and inspiring, Cindy! Thanks! -Julia :-)
White or blue, who cares, your home is beautiful. You could decorate with orange or whatever and again it would be gorgeous. You have a gift for displaying to the best advantage, plus you are really creative in redoing things.Keep on doing what you have been doing, we all love it! Enjoy your weekend and keep creating.
ReplyDeleteJean in Virginia
Loving your choices in that wonderful mosaic!
ReplyDeleteHave a great holiday weekend!
Donna
I love those chairs! I can't wait to see what you do.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI love the Bergere chair. You are one lucky lady. I love the second fabric you've shown, the blue damask type that's close to the original.
The mosaic is really pretty too.
Happy long weekend - I am so glad it's cooling off. Tomorrow's supposed to be really nice.
I'm off to read what happened yesterday...

ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteLove the blue mosaic! Your bedroom is so pretty. I can't wait to see your next chair... You haven't baked anything lately either... I always like your blogs about your food...
~~Liz~~
PS. Today is Charm School Saturday at my blog. Come and see what it's about....
Your blog is excellent. I looked at the pics of your blue bedroom... very pretty & fresh.
ReplyDeleteDo you ever look at "Domino" magazine? They have do it yourself decorating contests & it looks like you could be a contender!
Have fund with your chair project.
Hi Cindy
ReplyDeleteI will put your name in the Pot.
You have all weekend if you want to go get a bracelet... : ) he he he
Thanks for coming over!
~~Liz~~
I picked up a chair that I thought was like yours (bergere) today at GOODWILL. It is not exactly same now I have NO clue what it is? This is all your fault! LOL My hubby is gonna kill me with all the stuff I have dragged home. Do you know any good sites for figuring out what to call this chair. (i will post her on my blog later)
ReplyDeleteI KNOW I KNOW! I am glad you told me it fits in 'that category'. I was NOT very nice to the Goodwill guy. I found it YANKED the tag. Told Jay "sorry hon were are getting this" and out I went (with another chair tag too). The guy is pulling it out and starts to lay it on it's side in the back fo my explorer and I say "uh NO!" he is trying to put the lighter weight chair under and craziness. I said "this belogns to ME now and I don't want it HURT"
ReplyDeleteLOL
I am so stoked.....Thanks for so much inspiration. I actually went to show my hubby totaly different seventies green chairs that I wanted to get and redo. Sadly, I didn't get them TOO! LOL
Feel free to email me "off blog" chezgroomer AT yahoo DOT com. (you can delete that from yoru comments later if you want)
I love all the blue! It's my favorite color!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see how the chairs turn out!
Kady
Love what you've done with your blog and you're an inspiration to get up every morning and play house. I have been collecting...well acutally hoarding stuff for years. My house style I'll call early attic decor or calico..don't have one theme or color scheme but I love old faded florals and battered old quilts and chipped china and those orphans no body wants...Suitcases of old linens that I bought for projects but don't have the hootspa to take scissors to, I am slowly having those self talks "what the heck you saving them for woman?" So I did cut up some bark cloth curtains and made a quilt and some pillows. I just got my foot in the blog door and slowly posting what's in my head. Scary thought...
ReplyDeleteLove your page
gail and callie =^..^=
Cindy, All of your pictures are beautiful. Pale blue and white is so soothing.I find myself drifting toward neutrals lately after all the reds and yellows of the European country look. (However I love them too) But right now white, ivory and charcoal seem to be calling me.I don't know why anyone would find it necessary to comment negatively on someone so obviously happy with her own sense of style. Love your blog P.
ReplyDeleteYour blogging and photos are just lovely... Anyone who would not think so has a real case of the ENVYS..It is just a pleasant experience to come view your blog.
