A message from Beau

Cindy's not feeling well. She has a really bad cold and she also had an accident with a butane candle lighter on Friday. She was refilling the lighter with butane fuel and when she was done, she clicked the lighter to see if it would work but she didn't know that some of the fuel had dripped into her kitchen sink and there were a lot of fumes so when she clicked the lighter it exploded into a huge fireball. It could have been so much worse. She burned her hands and her singed her bangs, eyebrows and eyelashes. It's amazing she didn't burn her face because the flames shot up into her face! She has really short eyelashes now....do they grow back? If not, we'll have to get her some fake ones! She went to work today even though she's not feeling well because of her cold and the blisters on her fingers. I wanted her to stay home but she wouldn't listen to me.

  1. Oh my Godness!!! It's a miracle she didn't burn herself more. Of course it's bad with the things that happened, but she could have burnt her fact more and that's not nice at all. Hopefully both she, and you, recover soon.
    Hope you're feeling better tomorrow.

  3. Oh, dear! I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well, but very glad you weren't hurt any worse in the lighter incident. I can confirm that eyelashes DO grow back. I once singed mine off on one eye. It looked kind of funny for awhile, but I don't think it took them too long to come back. Take care of yourself, sweetie!

  4. Oh my! That is so scary. I've had one explode in my face too. Luckily mine was nearly out of fluid and it just blew up into a million pieces. Hope you get to feeling better.

  5. I am new to your adorable site and check up now every day. I knew something was wrong when you hadn't posted in a while. What a scary thing to have happen, and hope you feel better soon. I, too can assure you that eyelashes grow back, only mine pulled out with my eyelash curler. It looked ridiculous for a couple weeks, but thank goodness they grew back. Such are the consequences for beauty (or trying to have it). . .in the home and around!! I look forward to your inspirations, soon.

  14. Oh my goodness, Beau! She wouldn't stay home and let you take care of her? I'm so glad you let us know what happened and that she will be OK - it was a miracle that she wasn't hurt worse. When she comes home from work today please tell her I am praying for her to feel better and heal quickly. And tell I said that she should listen to you next time you give advice. 15. Oh my gosh! Yes, it could have been worse... but sooo sorry that happened to you.
A couple weeks before my wedding, my soon-to-be husband was lighting a grill and the same thing happened and it singed his very long eyelashes. So what did he do? He took my hair cutting scissors (I had just cut his hair) and went in the bathroom and cut the singed part off! But thank God they grew back!

  17. Beau, not only are you cute as a button, you must be extremely smart to type Cindy's post for her today. Bet you didn't even need to use the Spell Check. Are you good in the kitchen too, Beau? I bet some homemade soup would make her feel better.

Please extend my wishes to Cindy for a speedy recovery from both her burns (scary!) and her bad cold. One or the other would be bad enough but the two things at the same time is just too much! Maybe you can convince her tonight that she should stay home for a day or two to recuperate.

  41. Oh Cindy I'm so sorry to hear this. Your eyebrows will grow back. In my very young days I smoked (a lot) and was so very cool I used the gas range to light my cigs. May I say more? I didn't look too cool for a while and that ended that stage ha ha. I'm so glad you didn't burn your face. I'm sure that took the starch out of you. Hope your feeling better.

  52. Oh my Gosh Cindy, feel better soon. Don't refill those stinking lighters. . . throw them out and purchase new ones. They are cheap enough. . . certainly not worth taking a chance of having what happened to you again.
