Blooming Hydrangeas - Show and Tell Friday

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!

As you can see, my hydrangeas are blooming!  A few months back...I think it was around February I pulled out my lace-cap hydrangea that I planted when I first moved here 10 years ago and replaced it with this Nikko Blue Hydrangea.  I just wasn't happy with the blooms on the lace-cap and I've always wanted a Nikko Blue. I'm so happy I did this! This plant has grown so fast and is already full of blooms!  If it's this big the first year I can't wait to see it in the years to come!

I'm always torn on whether to leave the flowers on the bush or cut them for bouquets! I've decided to cut a few of them to cheer up my bedroom! I would love to have a huge garden and grow lots of hydrangeas but I'm happy to have just two for now!  The other one just started blooming so it will be about another month before it's in full bloom.

I still have to go through the photos of my boyfriend's home in Hawaii. I hope to go through those and post them next week.

Thanks to all of you that join in on Show and Tell Friday every week and thanks to all of you who leave such nice comments!

  5. Oh Cindy, your hydrangeas are gorgeous! It's just too darned hot here, and there's not enough shade in my yard to grow them, which is too bad as they're one of my favorite flowers. Thank you for hosting each week!

  8. Your Hydrangeas are incredible!

Funny the first year mine did really well but haven't done as well since....they're showing some early buds and I can't WAIT for them to blossom.

I am so happy you cut some to bring joy inside to your living space, that's important.

    Thanks for hosting!!

  18. My hydrangeas won't be blooming for a while yet. I knowmwhat you mean about making a decision to cut or not. What you need, I guess, is enough blooms for the ones you cut not to be missed!

  24. Thanks for the photo's, I absolutely love hydran. I am so disappointed however to find out they are very, very poisonous to animals and children, even fatal. I have them planted in my front beds but now I can't have them in the back because of my dogs and cats. The cats are what bothers me because some like to chew on green stuff.

  28. Hi Cindy,
Your hydrangeas are just beautiful! It is hard to decide if you should leave them on the bush or cut some and bring them in.
Thanks for hosting. I do hope my post is okay for your party, it's not really from my home but after the auction what I bought went to my home. *winks* Gina
