I'm joining in again on White Wednesday hosted by Kathleen of Faded Charm.
I just LOVE white and there is a lot of white inside my blue cabinet...
At least one person always asks what color blue I used on this cabinet...you can find the paint colors I used here.
See the little cherub in the middle (below) with his hand in the air? I bought a set of two of those at Move it Elsewhere last weekend. The set was marked $25 but they were 75% off so for $6.25 I brought them home to join my other little cherubs. I think most of these are from the 50s & 60s and made in Japan.
I am a lover of ironstone as well and it looks gorgeous in that blue cabinet.

I love, love, love your cabinet, and everything in it in all shades of white is just stunning! I just hate to strip furniture, if I could just paint it I probably would do more :)
ReplyDeleteCindy, I was curious about your cabinet. I purchased a similar one a while back and it's that wood/plasticy material... is that what yours was? I looked at your link to when you painted it and it looks like it in the before picture. If not, have you ever painted this "plasticy" material before, and if so, is there anything one has to do differently than painting wood? I would think so, but I don't know where to start. I have kilz 2 brand primer and I hear it is good for this type of furniture.
ReplyDeleteDo you think that would help? Also, would sanding it help? I have a husband and a soon to be 7 year old and a baby... so my furniture is not as "safe" from marr as your pieces. I looked up info online but find it hard to come across any.
Thanks a bunch for any help you can offer!
Charmaine

ReplyDeleteI'm wanting to paint my old vanity that color of blue. I'm not usually a fan of blues but that shade is almost a neutral.

Wow! Nice! I also collect some ironstone. There just lovely. I have special room in my house where all my ironstone stuff displayed but I didn't used them. My husband doesn't really like those kind of stuff. But he allowed me to collect.

ReplyDeleteHi Cindy
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by for a visit, I just wanted to let you know I have been out of town, my Mom had to have surgery so I went to take care of her so between that and school starting and the fact that I want a change here in my house, I haven't posted anything, I think you were the only who even cared so thanks!
Hugs~Kelly
I just realized one of the reasons I enjoy your decor so much. Things in your home have an antique quality but they are in good repair, there's no rust or peeling paint. I never get tired of looking at the photos on your blog, your home is so pretty and so restful feeling.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI would probably spend hours in front of your cabinet just taking in all the beautiufl treasures you have in there. I would probably spend hours and hours in your beautiful home taking in every single, beautiful detail. I am a very big fan of your designing skills! :-D Have a great one!
Smiles,
♥Ana
Such sweet cherubs and white pieces, love all the white and adore that blue paint you used on the hutch.
