I also bought a microplane which makes zesting lemons a breeze! Don't you just love new kitchen toys? They make playing house so much more fun!
I used Ina Garten's (The Barefoot Contessa) recipe for a lemon curd tart but used 6 tartlet pans instead of one large pan. Lauren and I had one and I took the rest to work and everyone loved them! I will be definitely be making this recipe again!

I love my microplane too - it's my absolute favorite kitchen tool. It's makes the most beautiful zests, chocolate shavings, and works perfectly for grating whole nutmegs. And what else can you say about anything Ina Garten does? She's just the best and her recipes are awesome. I'm making scones and her lemon curd for a baby shower on Saturday.

I have to try them! They look so pretty and delicious. I just love lemon desserts. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Hi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI wish I could stop by for dessert! Unfortunately i live in SE PA. Those tarts look delicious. I watched Ina Garten recently when she did a show comparing food and desserts made two ways - with and without lemon zest. She tested the samples on her staff (they didn't know which had the zest added) and the lemon zest ones won hands down. I must admit when recipes have called for zest I have never added it. But after seeing her show I will have to try adding it one of these days. Unfortunately I'm no Ina Garten. Isn't her home to die for...I watch just to see it.
I look at your blog every day and just love it. You have made a beautiful home and I'm so glad you share it with us.

I too love my microplane. Your tarts look lovely! I had the same thing happen to me when I made a cheese cake in June. I was so upset because the top had been perfect until the wrap stuck!
ReplyDeleteI love my tartlet pans. My recipe has a layer of dark chocolate ganache at the bottom, underneath the lemon curd. The dark chocolate and tart lemon go together so yummy!! Mmmmmm want to go make some now!!

Cindy, I still think your lemon tartlets look wonderful! I love my microplaner too. And anything I've ever made from Ina Garten's Barefoot Contessa is always a winner. I'll be trying this one too. Thank you for sharing. You always give me great ideas for serving to make it special.
ReplyDeleteThey look so good. I love lemon curd - could eat it by the spoonfuls.
ReplyDeleteThey look gorgeous!
ReplyDeletem ^..^
Now that looks absolutely delicious!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, the very first time I had some lemon curd (storebought) I thought I was eating Lemon Pledge (furniture polish).
So for a long time I was kinda leery about lemon curd. But thankfully I got over it!
YUM!
Why can't my kitchen be blooming with lovely blush roses? The tartlets look wonderful. I'll have to try those. Thanks for sharing the recipe link too!
ReplyDeleteMy these look yummy!! Cindy I love the picture with the lemon being grated - the sweet cannisters with the cups- the eggs in the background- so sweet. I cannot remember if you have shown your kitchen- I would love to see it if you could direct me to the post! thanks!

I adore lemon curd, these look so good! i got a set of microplanes a couple years ago and we use them for so many things I don't know what I did without them!
ReplyDeleteLemon curd tart is a favorite of mine and yours looked soooo good. 'Course, I make mine with gluten free flour and it still tastes great. Those roses look mighty delicious, too.!
ReplyDeleteUmm... lovely lemon tartlets! I love Ina Garten; she's like Chef on Valium -- so calm.

Beautiful photos, Cindy. You should be a food stylist for magazines. Is the tart crust just like a pie crust?
ReplyDeleteI just saw microplanes in a magazine -- will have to get one since I love lemons.
ReplyDeleteOh wow and you ALSO have my mouth watering! lol I have I don't know how many lemon recipes and have never hardly made any of them. But man how I love lemons! I am a diabetic so I can't have much of it. But I can still dream! ;)
ReplyDeleteWow, it's awesome I love it more if you replace the flower of it.
