One of the many benefits of living in California...I still have flowers blooming in my backyard and they are all pink so I'm joining in on Beverly's How Sweet the Sound ~Pink Saturday. Early next week the temperature is suppose to drop down to the 20s and 30s at night which is really cold for here. I'm not sure how many of these flowers will still be blooming after that! I think I better bring my begonia in the house next week...
I'll have to put a cover over the fuchsia to protect it from the frost...
I'll also cover the azaleas...
I don't worry too much about the impatiens, I can just plant more of those next year...
I have 1 more week of work next week and then I'm off for 2 weeks! I can't wait! Have a great weekend! Also, I found out that I won't be getting laid off in January! Whew...what a relief!

Great News! I know you must be relieved to know you won't be laid off. So many will not be that fortunate. Your flowers are so pretty. All blooms in my courtyard are long gone, and the ferns are going one by one. The only color left, is the bow on the wreath hanging on the gate.

So glad to hear that you won't be laid off. The last of my hardy pansies were gone just before Thanksgiving. I tried to keep my pumpkins by the door, but once they froze, the squirrels and the deer wanted them. So out to the other side of the stream they went!I once lived in So. Cal. and remember having blooms on things into January.

ReplyDeleteI did bring my pink impatience in as it was such a pretty pink and with it being a double it is beautiful and reminds me of roses! Plus I'm cheap and it takes a lot longer for them to get huge here as the growing season is shorter!

The pink flowers are so pretty. When I lived in Calif. fuschias were one of my favorite flowers (and Gardenias too). They are so delicate looking.

ReplyDeleteHow lovely! I got out shopping today, I found some lovely ornaments, 50 percent off! I buy each daughter and all four grandchildren one for there tree each year! Oh I do wish our remodel was over! I came home and wanted to hit the attic and pull out all my trees, angels, santa, and nut crackers! I buy me a santa every year for my tree, I found a cute one. So he is staring at me saying please find me a home on your tree! lol I put up 10 stocking and fill up for my family every year, I have to atleast do that! If I could find that Tommy the elf that run away from Lady Jane's I just might get some things done, and have my Christmas deco up!lol Glad you did not get layed off! your just killing me. Is the Begonia Gardens still there? i used to have big baskets of fuchsias and hanging begonias everywhere! they do not grow here, they die, just flat die.

Hi Cindy, this Ece from Turkey, do you have any other follower from Turkey? Thank you very much for entering to my blog and writing your toughts . I know your time is so precious. Altough I have a big garden , I really like your backyard! Life is so different in Turkey. Having a house with a garden is something so luxury so I am a lucky person(although we are not rich) having my own house with a garden. Wow....can't believe that flowers are still blooming! Here in BC Canada we are having artic winds and they are calling for snow tonight. Brrrrr.....this southern girl is longing for her childhood home and not the cold northern place she is in!
