Bare Root Rose Time - Show and Tell Friday

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!  It's time to plant bare root roses here in California so I thought I would share some photos of two that I chose to plant this year. These are photos off the David Austin website. Mine still look like twigs with a few leaves beginning to show.

I'm going to grow these in large pots on my balcony.  Since I moved to my new unit in the same complex I now have sun to grow things!  That makes me very happy! My last unit was in the shade all day...I found that very depressing!

I chose two David Austin roses and I planted them right after Christmas. The one above is called Queen of Sweden  I love the color!

I also chose a white rose called Winchester Cathedral. I think the two of these in bouquets together will be really beautiful!  I can hardly wait until Spring for them to bloom!

I really wish I could have planted my very favorite rose which is the Eden Rose but it's a climber and not suitable for container growing.

  15. Two beautiful David Austin roses! I have several David Austins-- my absolute favorite rose. If you want another rose for a container, I recommend DA 'Tamora'; average size is about 3 x 3 and it has a beautiful apricot pink, fragrant bloom.
