Happy Easter everyone!
I bought a gorgeous bouquet of blue hydrangeas at the grocery store yesterday. They were such a great deal at only $6. I put them in some water right away but the next morning they were all wilted except this one stem! Such a disappointment but I'm glad I at least have one to enjoy!
I love flowers! I was excited when I received an email from Hoffman Media that they wanted to send me their new book, Flowers with Southern Lady and they also sent me two more to giveaway on my blog!
This book is stunning! So many beautiful flowers! It makes me want to recreate some of them. I really love the one above with the peonies and hydrangeas!
The book has flower arrangements for every season and they even have instructions on how to create some of them!
If you would like a chance to win one of these books, please leave a comment and just let me know if you have a favorite flower or if you love them all?
I will randomly select two winners next Sunday, April 27, 2014. Since I will be shipping these out myself I'm going to limit it to those and the U.S. and Canada to keep the shipping costs down. If you don't have a blog, please leave your email address so I have a way to contact you.
Good luck everyone!
I LOVE lilacs. And roses....and pink peonies! Great giveaway! Nansbliss@yahoo.com

Flowers are a part of my life, so singling out a favorite is difficult. Tulips, hydrangeas, peonies, and roses are certainly at the top of the list. Thanks for the chance to win this new book.
ReplyDeleteI love a few. Roses, hydrangeas, sunflowers, peonies, and orchids.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite of all time, of course, are ROSES. Their appearance and their aroma are exquisite. Secondly, I love hydrangeas, tulips, any bulb flower, really. Thirdly, all flowers of all description! Flowers are a wonderful treat from God.

ReplyDeleteI love Lavender and just got a couple of Hydrangea plants for our lanai, which I'm loving:) Thank you for the opportunity to win!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite flowers are peonies and hydrangeas. I had the same thing happen to me with hydrangeas I bought them home from the grocery store put them in water the next day they were all wilted. Then I read somewhere that if you take all the leaves off they will not wilt. So try this next time it really works mine last a week or more. Happy planting everyone.
ReplyDeleteIt's difficult to choose just one flower as a favorite. Thanks for a great give-away.

Lovely blog. We have a large garden and I love all flowers, but my favorite is cultivar day lilies which my husband and I hybridize. He works on skinny forms (spiders) and unusual forms. I love red and pink day lilies with ruffles and veining. This book looks delightful and should be in every flower lover's library!

Thank you for giving away such a beautiful book.

P.S. When hydrangeas wilt, they often can be revived by soaking in the sink/tub in enough water to cover the blooms. Soak for 2-3 hours for the best results.
ReplyDeleteJudith

I really love lilacs, but your hydrangeas are gorgeous. I think if you smash the stems of woody stemmed flowers with a hammer before you put them in warm water, they will absorb more water and remain fresh longer.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy...LoVe your blog! I've been on here looking around today! I came from Olga's blog..just kinda surfing around!Lol Thx for the chance to WIN one of these BeAuTiFuL books on Flower's! Hope you had a wonderful Easter! Have a nice evening ;-) Patricia

How does one choose a favorite?
ReplyDeleteLavender and carnations for fragrance. Spring bulbs are a welcome sight after a long, cold winter. Marigolds, geraniums, zinnias, pansies, violets and petunias give us color all summer long. Hydrangeas and magnolias were my favorite when I lived in the South. It's just too difficult to choose a favorite!
Thanks for sharing this opportunity.

Roses (of course!) are my absolute favorite...I have loved your blog for years, Cindy!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE all yellow flowers but my favorite are Sunflowers.
ReplyDeleteEdna.Guerrero@outlook.com
I do love them all, but Tulips are my favorite. They're here for such a short time and when they appear, I know that Spring is here.
ReplyDeleteI love hydrangeas! They are so pretty but they are really hard to manage--they need tons of water and many times they look wilted!!! I'd love to have some in the yard.
ReplyDeleteYour giveaway book looks beautiful, and I'd love a chance to win!
Thank you so much! Frances

I love all flowers, it's very difficult to choose one, but I love Orchids, Peonies, Roses and Hydrangeas especially.
ReplyDeleteI love flowers of all kinds....it is tough to choose just one. I guess if I had to it would have to be roses!
ReplyDeleteOh dear! I might be too late, but it's worth a chance. My favorite flower is ALL of them. When I got married my wedding bouquet had roses and freesia and irises and ranunculus and....the list goes on. It must have weighed about 25 pounds or more! Soooo heavy. But I digress. Please enter me in the giveaway and thank you and Hoffman media for the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteOh my! Trying to pick a favorite ? I guess I'd have to say" all of them" from my wild lupins to my tiny pinks & naturalized violets. From my towering sunflowers to my ancient apothecary's rose I love them all.
