Hi all, welcome to Show and Tell Friday! I thought I would be sharing photos from the Goat Hill Fair last weekend but we didn't make it there! The weekend sort of got away from us! It was a gorgeous weekend and I'm so sorry I missed it! We did have a fun weekend though, Dan and I went mountain bike riding Saturday and Sunday. I'm really looking forward to this 3-day weekend we have coming up!

I'm so excited! My daughter and I are planning a trip to Southern California for a mother-daughter weekend away in July! (We live in Northern California for those of you that don't know that.) My daughter, Lauren, wants to stay in Santa Monica...does anyone have any recommendations for hotels? We are leaning towards staying at the Georgian Hotel.... here is a photo of it...
It looks really nice and there are rooms with ocean views, which is what I really want! Please let me know if you have any recommendations!

ReplyDeleteDan and I stay at The Georgian whenever we can get to Southern Cali. We love it there. All originally preserved and so classically retro. The speakeasy used to be in the basement. You can sit on the veranda and have breakfast in the morning and drinks in the afternoon. It is a beautiful historic hotel!

ReplyDeleteMy friend just had her birthday party at the shangri-la in Santa Monica...very deco, Hollywood regency...
ReplyDeleteThey have a rooftop bar where you can get drinks and appetizers and watch the sunset...
She also got a room...it was gorgeous! Marble bath, ocean view,...just lovely!

I've lived here all my life and I feel bad that I don't even know of a wonderful place to stay..in L.A.
ReplyDeleteRiverside..yes. I would recommend the Mission Inn..but otherwise..I'm at a loss. Shame on me.

There's so much to do in scenic Santa Monica. I haven't been there to play in years but the Getty Villa (not the newer, bigger art center) was one of my favorite places to spend a day; gorgeous ocean views, pretty gardens and statues (Greek/Roman antiquities). They've refurbished it since I was there, but I don't know how they could have improved on it, as I loved it just the way it was. I guess it's actually Malibu, but eventually Malibu blends into Santa Monica. Have a wonderful time and report back with everything you saw and did, okay?!

however with an ocean view it's all good I would say, you will just sleep , bath and be on the beach

ReplyDeleteCindy I was born and raised in So. Cal and you two are going to have a ball. I love Santa Monica. Alot of do all over that area and some incredible restaurants. And Beverly Hills is practically next door so there you go. Wish I were going with you.:D I want to let you know that I love your header and your collages. I just love the feel of it all and your blog. Beautiful just beautiful. I'm going to have a new header done and yours is one of the few that I really love. But I do alot of food too so I'm not quite sure how all that can be incorporated into it all. I just wish I could make up my mind. I guess I'm just going to have to be more practical instead of just pretty if you know what I mean. Oh I just love both. What can I say.
