Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!
I have a tradition of buying my daughter a Christmas ornament every year. I've been doing this since she was really little and I try to find one that is meaningful for that year. A couple weeks ago I walked into a little shop in and saw this nail polish ornament and knew it would be perfect for this year! Why? Not because she is always polishing her nails...because now she will remember this is the ornament that she got the year she spilled fingernail polish on my carpet! haha! Luckily she spilled it right after I found out that I'm getting new wood floors put in soon! I think she will find this ornament hilarious! Luckily she doesn't read my blog so I don't think she will see this here and it will be a surprise when she opens it on Christmas Eve!

Cute ornament. Do you write the date on her ornaments? I have some that were given to me from my grandparents and every time I look at them I can see the date of when they gifted it to me. Thanks for hosting show n tell fridays.

We do the same thing with our girls. I love picking out that special ornament every year. It almost always relates to what they are doing, their likes, etc. Your dd will NOT forget the spilled polish with that ornament.

Thank you for hosting. I love the ornament you chose for your daughter. It's so unique.
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing with my kids. I started buying one also for my husband and myself because as my children moved on they took theirs with them and I knew the tree would look pretty bare. That is a really cute ornament! Just love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute ornament & different! Like you siad, she'll always remember the reason she got that ornament for that year & I bet she smiles! Enjoy! Charlene
ReplyDeleteI give my kids an ornament each year, too. Thank you for hosting!
ReplyDeleteLove that golden deer. the nail polish ornament is cute. I was tempted to buy a shoe ornament for my daughter the other day, but the line was so long. Think I'll go back and pick one up for her today!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, lucky you that you have such a nice landlord. I lived in a rental for years with the worst warped wood floors you can imagine...and then she blamed me when I vacated (as if my dog wasn't housetrained...yeah, right...). Of course, you're obviously a dream tenant (but I was pretty good myself!!).
ReplyDeleteLovely tradition, to gift your daughter with an ornament each year. When she's out on her own, she'll have a starter set. Some 35 years later, I still have my first, small artificial tree I bought for my first place. My first ornaments, too, were gleaned from my parents' "collection." Ornaments today are so diverse and plentiful to purchase; I have never seen one that's a nail polish bottle...SO cute!
OMG, I spilled nail polish on carpet once...bright, hot pink on cool gray/blue...and I never got it out. With the internet, you can google that sort of thing today and get tips from bloggers on how to remove a stain like that but, wow, I should've blotted, not wiped, because all I did was smear it worse on the carpet. It was almost wall-to-wall (area) carpet and we had to junk the entire piece. It sure taught me to stop doing my nails in the living room!
That nail polish ornament is darling! I LOVE it! I'm sure she will enjoy it!!! Love that tradition!!! :) Thank you for hosting a lovely link party. It's a pleasure linking up this week. Happy Holidays!!!
ReplyDeleteXOXO's,
Jessie
Love the ornament - we give our girls an ornament each year too. This year it was a flute & clarinet which they each play. Just linked up for first time - thanks!

Cindy I love it. I have for the past several years been buying glass ornament figures to go on my tree. I have almost enough to cover the whole tree which is 6' tall. I hope I can find an ornament like that. I don't have a fingernail polish ornament. I did get french fries, hamburger, and hot dog ornaments this year. That is so funny about Lauren and you picked the perfect ornament alright. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteGreat ornament! I also love the little purses and high heels.
ReplyDeleteAs an ornament lover, that is a super beautiful and special one....I know she will love it...
