Oh finally! Last weekend I finally started decorating for Christmas! I think this is the latest I've decorated in about twenty years! I usually have my tree up Thanksgiving weekend!
I usually buy a Noble Fir because I like the space in between the branches to hang my ornaments but this year I bought a Douglas Fir because it was so much less expensive! I'm really surprised at how much I like it! I didn't think I would be able to fit all my ornaments but it worked out perfectly!
Am I the last one to get my tree up? I still haven't even begun Christmas shopping yet! Oh my!
Fab! I'm with you with not starting the Christmas Shopping! My decorating is about done...working on the guest room today...my Christmas Party/Open house is on Sunday! Blah! I have a slew of folks coming! Your tree is stunning. I look forward to more of your Christmas Posts!
ReplyDeleteYour tree looks pretty. I guess that boyfriend of yours is keeping you busy :) Can't wait to hear what he gets you for Christmas. With all those fun dates I'm sure he is a great gift giver. What are you going to get him?
ReplyDeleteWe're so behind with Christmas shopping too!.. omg! it seems like this December is a week shorter than usual! There just isn't enough time this December!
ReplyDeleteI put the tree up on Thanksgiving day (it's fake) and have had all my decorations out since then also.
ReplyDeleteI did a tiny bit of Xmas shopping yesterday but we will most likely do the rest over the weekend. I actually enjoy shopping at the last minute, you feel the excitement in the air!!!
I glance through your earlier posts and saw that you have met someone. Good for you. I met my husband on Match.com 10 years ago and we have been married for 7 years now.
ReplyDeleteYour tree is gorgeous. Don't worry about the rest you will catch up I am sure.
xoxo,
Sue
That's because you have been busy having lots of fun! Our slim trees are up, house is all decorated, Christmas cards with annual letter went out yesterday, sugar cookies are baked and most of the presents are wrapped except for ribbons and embellishments. Still have to bake the chocolate chip cookies. Now I can relax for a few days before we pack to leave to visit relatives. Your tree is lovely...once the decorations are on all trees look beautiful. Merry Christmas Cindy to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour Tree is beautiful, I bet that took a long time to complete. My sister has a tree that large, and it sure has a WOW factor like yours~ Happy Holidays, Diane

Don't even have a tree here yet, Cindy. The flu bug came to visit, but things are looking up now. Love your tree, it's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteShopping done, but haven't dragged the tree out yet...I kind of like the way it looks without the tree. i know...call me Scrooge!
ReplyDeleteYour tree is just beautiful!! I love all your ornaments and the scalloping beads.
ReplyDeleteYour tree looks beautiful and no you are not the last one we just got our tree today.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn
Your tree is lovely as is everything you do. I haven't finished my other home decorations, although I did do some on-line shopping. Now, if I can just get myself together to join your party this week, through it may be next week.
ReplyDeleteNo worries, you can just leave it up longer to get the same amount of time for enjoyment.
ReplyDeleteYour tree is beautiful, Cindy. You definitely aren't the last to put up a tree. We haven't either, and we usually do it the weekend after Thanksgiving when both girls are home. We're even toying with the idea of skipping a tree this year because of our new kitty who literally bounces off the walls. If we do put one up, it will probably be this weekend. Merry Christmas!... Donna
ReplyDeleteTry having four snow days and snow coming through the roof and a Christmas party on Sunday!! No worries though, it's all good!! Your tree looks beautiful! Hope to see you next time I am in California to see my daughter and grandbaby!!
ReplyDeleteCindy, I just got my tree up too and I've also not bought a single gift as of yet. I normally have my decorating done shortly after Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteYour tree is gorgeous!

Cindy, your tree is beautiful. I am surprised that you and so many that commented, haven't done their shopping yet. Now, I don't feel so left out. I've been all decorated for weeks but can't seem to get to town and shop. Panic is setting in...All the best with your shopping.

We all need to get over the ridiculous idea of a deadline date to get a tree up. My mother NEVER put up our tree till the 15th at the EARLIEST! My date is the 10th at the earliest. I'd say you are right on track. We al do too much too soon under too much peer pressure.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tree, Cindy.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Cindy your tree is beautiful. I can't believe you haven't started
ReplyDeleteyour shopping.
Thank goodness I am through. You

That is a gorgeous tree, and a wonderful collection of ornaments! Love the cherub topper! Good luck with your shopping and enjoy the season.
ReplyDeleteIt looks really beautiful like your father christmas decorations. How don't know how you managed to photograph the lights to i can't seem to do it. Well done you. Happy shopping ;-)) Dee

ReplyDeleteCindy, your tree is stunning. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year sorry about the delete I can't seem to spell today.
ReplyDeleteThat's what a boyfriend does to ya! But alas! what's my excuse? I think they move Christmas all around the calendar to fool people !!! Your tree is beautiful...
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Love how your tree looks.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine how so many of the British (and Scandinavian) people put their tree up on Christmas Eve!
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is, you're waaaay ahead of me! Oh, my!
Merry Christmas to you, though, now that it's here! =]
Dear Cindy, Your tree is so beautiful. You know I have found Magazine subscribtions to be great gifts, they think of you every time they get one, and you can get really great deals on them now. Just take a look at those cards stuck inside the magazines at the store. Also the first time, its fun to buy the one that you're giving and wrap it up and give it them. My gang seems to all love 'Traditional Home'. 'Baskin Robbins' gift certificates are a real fave, everybody loves those. Merry Christma Dear Cindy, Hugs, Joyce
