I had such a wonderful weekend! I went to Sausalito and Tiburon (cute little towns on the San Francisco Bay) for lunch and shopping with friends. Of course I brought my camera so I'll have photos later in the week!

ReplyDeleteI am so envious! I had one for several years, but it would never bloom.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE lilacs!! How lucky you are to live in such a wonderful part of the world!!! It is rainy and snowy here today! Yes, I live in the South, and yes it is March 22! I am thinking someone FORGOT to tell Mother Nature!!
ReplyDeleteSupposed to be in teh 70's tomorrow! Go figure!!

Oh, the lilacs are so beautiful! You have inspired me to plant 2 lilac bushes this Spring. One is at the business, where my customers walk in, and the other is in our front yard at home. They are both already sprouting leaves. So blooms are surely on their way later on this year. I can't wait!

ReplyDeleteMy husband and I got engaged 25 years ago in a restaurant on the water in Tiburon. I can't remember the name of the restaurant but he proposed and I said ...YES!
So I have fond memories of Tiburon. I'm sure you had a ball.
Blessings,
Debbie
Oooh, I can almost smell these through my computer monitor! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI loooove lilacs. They don't bloom here until May, however. When we bought our house there was one small, runty dwarf lilac in the back yard. We moved it to another location, hoping it would do better, but alas, it died last winter. I can't wait until we're able to plant some new ones.
oh my gosh! Those lilacs are beautiful!!! I'm soooo jealous!
ReplyDeleteWay to use that fun new tool/toy of yours Cindy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful lilacs! Sounds like a fabulous weekend! Happy Monday! ♥
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to believe! Here we are dipping back down into the 30's again and the trees are just starting to bud. We basically still have that dead winter brown look with no snow left. I'm looking forward to some green like you have, it just may be a while!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful...to be able to go into your yard and pick something like that ...what a treat! Thank you for sharing them...
ReplyDeleteNow send me some! tee hee!
Hugs and love,
Mona
Thank you for sharing your lovely lilacs. Ours are still sleeping. You've made the wait a bit more bearable.
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous too! I planted four lilac shrubs about three years ago and none of them are doing well. In fact I think all but one is dead. I love lilac bouquets!
ReplyDeleteOh, I LOVE the smell of Lilacs and how they fill the whole room with their fresh sweet scent....mmmm!

Hi! Cindy I live in Wa. My lilacs are ready to bloom. I have light purple, deep purple, white, and blue-purple. You can get starts from the shoots that come out of the ground by the main plant trunk. I prune mine so they become trees instead of bushes. I just take the bottom branches and prune off and form just the trunk and above the branches bloom out. I just love them and so do my humming birds. Have fun in your beautiful garden.
ReplyDeleteThey are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMine are about ready to burst open in bloom, can't wait to smell their scent wafting through the house :)
*hugs*Deb
Lilacs smell just divine. I want to plant one so badly. I'm not sure if it is going to be in our budget this spring (we just purchased a bunch of summer bulbs to plant), but I dream of lilac blossoms in my home and the smell wafting through our backyard.
