I'm ready to pick flowers now!

I went to Carmel with some friends on Saturday. I'll share more photos of that tomorrow but today I wanted to show you what I bought!
I remember seeing one of these in a magazine years and years ago, I think it was in the old Victoria magazine and I've always wanted one but never saw one for sale anywhere! It's a basket on a pole that you can stick into the soil in your garden to hold your flowers as you cut them. The tip is pointed so it will be easy to push into the ground. I'll be using it in my garden when my roses bloom but for now it's just decorating my living room. Those roses aren't real but they look like they are so that's good enough for me.
I just think it's so cute (and practical)!

  8. Martha Steward used to have a larger basket on a pole she used in her garden similar to yours on her show years ago.
Can't say I've ever seen one for sale anywhere so you made a great find.

  13. What a neat idea! I could have used one of those so many times in the past. I am itching for little green sprouts to start popping up, BUT FIRST, we have to get rid of a foot of snow and it's snowing again this morning...ARGH! I guess I need to start another indoor project.

  14. Carmel!! Be still my heart! my favorite place in the whole world, it can be rainy or sunny it is still the most gorgeous place to me. I love your flower picking basket. I can just see you filling it up with lovely roses from your yard. This little basket will make the experience that much more enjoyable, kind of like a market basket. Great find and purchase, Kathysue

  34. Carmel is one of most favorite places in the world!!! I bet you had a beautiful day. That basket in your living room looks like straight out of a Victoria mag. Those roses look real! Such a cheerful cottage you have...I can hear the birdsong.

  35. Cindy, flower basket is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I picked my daffodils yesterday. Last fall I planted 75 blubs and with all this rain they are still beautiful. Just a little muddy.
P.S. love your store. The candy dish is to die for.

  41. Your patio looks different. Did they cut a tree down or trim it back. I know that's not the object of the post.

I want spring too, but also love the rain.
