Mosaic Monday

I'm joining in on Mary's (Little Red House) Mosaic Monday today! I've been so busy lately I haven't had much time to take pictures for my blog and the pictures that I have taken are still sitting in the camera waiting to be uploaded. I had to once again use old photos...hope you don't mind. You can click on the photo to enlarge it.

The New Year started off in a horrible way for us! I had to rush Lauren to the emergency room on New Years Day around 6pm because she had a horrible asthma attack which was triggered by a bad cold she caught. She's doing better after spending over 5 hours receiving breathing treatments there. Her asthma has never been that bad before so it was very scary! The doctors and the nurses in the emergency room were so amazing and so caring, it really does take a special person to do those jobs! I really admire them and if you happen to be one of them...thank you, for doing what you do!

Yesterday I went to the Alameda Flea market and bought something wonderful! I'll be sharing that soon!

Please stop by Mary's blog to see more wonderful photo mosaics!

  2. Glad to hear that Lauren is doing better. That is such a scary ordeal for both the person having the attack and the one watching and feels helpless. Hubs has gone through bouts the same. We tore up all the carpet in the house and stained the concrete, made a huge difference. Keep that inhaler in reach and Lauren is in my prayers.

As always, your home is simply stunning! What was the name of that Alexandra Stoddard book -- Living Beautifully? You certainly embody that every day!

  11. Cindy, so good to know Lauren was well taken care of, my God, that must has been very scary to you.
Wish she recovers completely and that you find the cause of her illness.

Your mosaic is so lovely with pictures of your beatiful white decor.

  12. Gosh Cindy I sure hope Lauren is
better. I hate to hear anyone being
sick during holidays. Your right it
does take a special person to work
in the ER. My neighbor who is now
a retired nurse used to do that.
I love your photos and could look
at them over and over again. Take
care of Lauren that is all that
    matters.:O)

  20. Hi Cindy,
Not the way to start the year off. That had to be so scary for both of you. Glad she is doing better now. I could look at these pictures all the time. Each time I see something new that I had not focused on before. Never did find any etched glass cloches this year at Marshall's or Home Goods. So I just have to continue to drool over yours.

  29. Oh, Cindy,
Poor Lauren! And poor you! Asthma can be so unpredictable...Glad she's feeling better, though.
Your photo mosaic is gorgeous. Your creativity and talent just shines through.
And thank you so much for your gracious and kind comment on my blog. I was worried about putting bloggers off, or getting noses out of joint if they were not into the tag/award thing.
I must admit I feel a little sheepish about the "No Tags" button, though. I have seen them, it turns out, but lost all sense in my excitement. At some time or another, I did read the words, but since then, I've just enjoyed how cute the little girls and forgotten why they're there, since heretofore, it wasn't relevant to me! (feeling a bit too self-absorbed here....) Anyway, 'nuff said, you've clearly forgiven me my folly, and I've learned a valuable lesson!

  33. Dear Cindy,
I am new to your site and I am so amazed at your decorating skills. I am interested in doing my home in the romantic style but don't know how to get started? Any tips? I'm sorry about Lauren, as I too have breathing problems and it can be so scary, glad she is better.

  34. Hi Sharon,

You can find a lot of inspiration by looking at blogs that decorate in the Romantic Style. I started by painting a lot of my furniture white. I also found furniture at thrift stores, craigslist and flea markets that I could paint. You can find vintage dishes, linens, glassware, etc. on eBay. Little by little you can transform your home over time which is what I have done.
