Seventeen!

My baby turns 17 today!


She's thinking of becoming a pastry chef! That's her first creation from her Easy-Bake Oven and this is a cake she made earlier this year...
She's 17! Next thing I know she's going to look like this...

  3. Gosh, they grow up quickly. I've got a little tear pricking my eyes because my daughter is only 3, but I know as quick as a flash I'll be writing 'my baby is 17 today' and the thought makes my heart sink.

  15. Congratulations on turning 17 enjoy your teen years, they go so quickly. My DD is 24 now and each stage has been so special to be able take the journey with her. Your cake is just stunning!

  17. A very Happy Birthday to your beautiful daughter, Lauren. She is not only beautiful, but clearly very talented! Wow -- I don't know anyone who can decorate a cake like that! It's fabulous.

    And isn't it just astounding how our kids get older, yet we remain forever young? :-P I need to believe that -- my older girl will be 24 in February. ACK!

    Cindy, she has almost exact coloring as my girl, who will be 18on the 10th! The pic with the Lion King shirt holding the dessert - almost the splitting image!! My girl had a bob with bangs at that age too!

    My stepson just graduated from the California School of Culinary Arts Le Cordon Bleu and they have an awesome (if on the expensive side) pastry program (there is a totally official name for it that I really don't know. He did the full program.) Best of luck!
