Los Gatos, California

Yesterday I met some old high school friends for lunch at Steamers Grillhouse in Los Gatos. We had such a great time and spent hours chatting! It's hard to believe that over 30 years have passed since we were in high school!
Before we met for lunch with the group, my friend September and I met two hours earlier to go take photos around Los Gatos.
There are so many charming old homes there. You may remember this post that I did awhile back.
There were even some roses still blooming...

The camellias are starting to bloom...

The citrus trees and bushes are all full of ripe fruit this time of year...

I hope you enjoyed the tour! Next week I'll share some of the cute shops in Los Gatos!

Today I'm meeting some other friends for dinner and a movie. We're going to see "It's Complicated"! It's been so wonderful having these two weeks off of work! I could get used to this lifestyle...I need a paycheck though! These two weeks have been so busy and the days are just flying by!!! Isn't that how it always is when you are on vacation?

Don't forget...tomorrow is my Year in Review Party!

  1. It takes awhile for it's complicated to get funny, but then it is really great. The home Meryl Streep lives in is amazing. I love Santa Barbara. Enjoy the movie!!!

  6. Oh Cindy sweetie...
How beautiful this city is. I have never heard of it before, but then I am not familiar with California.

I have to tell you I love the yellow one. I want to move into that one. How beautiful it is. Everything looks so beautiful there and so well kept. That is an oddity to see things so nice.

Did you take pictures of the inside of the home where you had lunch? I can't wait to see. Looked so romantic and beautiful.

Thanks for sharing. It is so wonderful you were able to ring out the old year and ring in the new one with friends. Beuatiful.

    Country hugs and much love..Sherry

  7. These homes are so beautiful! It looks like a really nice area to live in. I wish I had two weeks off ~ maybe next year. I just took a few days Christmas weekend so it felt like a week off. I know what you mean though; I would love to win Lotto and take all the time I want!

  15. Hi Cindy!
Oh how I miss my younger years when I lived in Campbell and my friends and I would frequent Los Gatos and it's surroundings. We used to go to the Charter House for mud pie dessert....yumm! I can't believe the blooms and the fruit on the trees! It is snowing here today so there is definitely no blooms around!
    Have a Happy New Year!
    xoxo

  20. Oh Cindy, I love the photos of those lovely houses. I used to dream of having a house with a white picket fence and lots of rose bushes. Maybe I need to move to Los Gatos?

I missed wishing you a merry Christmas (better late than never I guess). But I'll check in tomorrow for your year in review.

    Blessings,

  21. Your beautiful pictures made me want a Canon Rebel XSi. I showed my husband and he surprised me with one for Christmas because I had been unhappy with my point and shoot. Now I just need to save up for the zoom lens ...

I saw the movie last night and loved it!

  27. You took some lovely photos! I love looking at differnet home styles. It's nice to get together with old friends. I get together with friends from high school about once a year. One friend and I meet every month for breakfast. It's so nice to stay in touch.

Have a wonderful New Year with your loved ones!

  28. OMG(osh)! I adore those beautiful houses. Los Gatos is now a must-visit for me. Your feature in Romantic Homes was awesome. I'm sure that the New Year will bring the right opportunity for you to do what you do best - FULL TIME.

  29. With several four foot snow drifts in my yard, I am amazed at the green grass, roses, citrus trees, and the other flowers! My geography is poor, especially since I've only been to San Francisco, so maybe you would be able to tell us which direction Los Gatos is from where you live. It sure looks like a lovely place to visit! Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and your family in the new year.

  30. Hi Cindy! Great photos of the charming homes in Los Gatos... I lived there for 5 years in the late 70's. I loved living there! The only reason I left was because I got divorced and couldn't afford it anymore... Even in the 70's it was above a pre-school teachers pay scale! I can't believe that Camellia plant! It was huge! (And beautiful!) Great post... See you tomorrow for the year in review!

  38. What a pretty town. I could feel at home in any one of those houses. Ahhh those camilias are so pretty. I had those at my last house. I miss them, they always bloomed at Christmas and looked so pretty with my decorations. Love the red petals and yellow centers.
Sounds like you have really enjoyed your time off. You will love Complicated. I laughed so hard, I.... well, you know.
Happy New Year to you and your family.

It is always such a pleasure
    "sightseeing" with you. Here
    in middle Tennessee we don't
have citrus trees nor do we
    have roses blooming this time
of year! Hope you enjoyed the
    movie...let us know.

  45. One of the most charming things about California is all of the sweet little neighborhoods with fun shops and beautiful homes. All of the California ladies' blogs I follow have such lovely tours of small towns around where they live. I adore living in Colorado, but I do wish we had more charming towns like Los Gatos! Thanks for taking us along with you.
