BIG EXCITING NEWS!!!

You are not going to believe this! I'm in the February 2010 issue of Romantic Homes Magazine!!! I can't stop smiling! I'm one of "The Romantics"!! It's a feature they do every February where they "spotlight creative individuals who inspire others". I remember seeing this feature last February and thinking how exciting it must to be to be one of the selected "Romantics" but I never in a million years thought they would contact me. I didn't even know they knew me! I can't tell you how hard it has been to keep this a secret!

Another exciting aspect to all of this is that my daughter, Lauren, got photo credit for the photo she took of me! I told her she should to take it to school and show her photography teacher. How many teenagers get photo credit in a major magazine? I'm so excited for her!

So here's a behind-the-scenes funny story. I was so excited when they contacted me and I thought about what I was going to write about for days. Next thing I know I'm down to the last day before the deadline and in a bit of a panic! I had so many ideas swirling through my head but I hadn't written anything down yet! I knew I wanted to mention my parents because I think so much of the person I am (at least the good parts) is because of them. I finally sat down the evening before it was due and wrote this really long, heart-felt article and then when I went to email it off to them the morning of the deadline I reread the email they sent me and I realized that they had given me a 150 word limit and I wrote over 500 words!!! PANIC!!! I had to do some really quick editing, major editing, but I was able to get it down to a little over 150 words.

I would also like to thank Linda from Linda's Blue Gate who sent me her magazine because I haven't received mine yet and it isn't out yet in the stores around here.... I must have gone to 15 stores looking for it!
