Dreaming of Summer

On days like this, when I don't have anything to post on my blog, I know I can always count on Flickr to help me out! These are other flickr member's photos which I've marked as my favorites and turned into a mosaic. Don't you just love that Nantucket cottage in the middle?

I have over 1,000 photos marked as my favorites on Flickr. Just looking at them can put me in a better mood! You can see them here.

Update: This is where I make my mosaics.

  10. Hi Cindy,
Ahhhhh.... summer days! I actually pass that cottage every year in Nantucket. It's very close to where we stay on the Island, and is equally as beautiful in person.

  15. This is a beautiful mosaic and I'm hoping that my garden will have some of these sweet flowers this year. I planted 3 Iceburg roses last summer and I'm thinking that they will put on a great show in their second year!

  17. Beautiful pictures! Thank-you for the link to the mosaic page. I did not participate in you year review because I could not make a mosaic. I thought to myself how sad is that! So I spent a few days trying to learn more about the things we could do with our blogs. Thank-you again for this link I will use it for sure.

  28. I took a trip over to Flickr to look at your favorites and OH MY! Such beauty! Please share your technique for finding beautiful, inspirational photos like the ones you have bookmarked as favorites. Do you search by tags such as "pink roses" or "cottages", or is there another method you use? Everytime I have searched Flickr I get so overwhelmed by photos I'm not particularly interested in.

  29. Hi Shari, some of them I found through searches but most of them I have found through other people's favorites. For instance, if you see one of my favorites you like, click on the photo, then go over to the person's user name which will be on the right and click that, then go up and click on "favorites" to their favorites and look for things you like. When you find someones things you like then you can add them as a contact so you can easily check back with them for updated photos. I hope that makes sense. Email me if you need clarification!

  36. Hey Cindy, I sure do enjoy your blog and great decorating ideas. I was looking through your photos and saw the blue cottage wooden sign with the pink bicycle, I was wondering where you got it. I have a pink Electra retro reproduction bike, and thought that sign would look great somewhere in my house. Thanks!

  40. What a beautiful mosaic. I am lucky as I don't have to dream of summer - I am lucky enough to live in Australia where it is Summer.
Ther is nothing as pretty as a pink Pierre de Ronsard rose like in your mosaic. Mine are looking really pretty right now

  54. How breathtaking! Can you imagine... having to put a trellis on your roof for roses to climb? Sigh......

Your ribbon embroidery is TDF. Gee, if I ever finish, (or at least START) all the many projects in my head, perhaps I'll pick up that book and learn too, lol!

LOVE the banner as well, xox is perfect!
