My Little Bedroom Shelf

Pin It Now!

This is the little shelf my dad made me years ago. He actually made it to sell at the flea market but I fell in love with it so he gave it to me. That was usually what happened every month at the flea market when they used to sell there. I would always come home with a little treasure handmade by my mom or dad.

There are a lot of sentimental things on this little shelf. The baby shoes belonged to my kids. The little slip was mine. There are pictures of my dad as a little boy and my mom as a young woman. There is a photo of my son and an oil painting in the back that he painted when he was around 10.
It's a bit crowded up there but I like it!

Hi Cindy,
I love your shelf & the fact that your Dad made it, makes it even more special. It is filled with special memories; therefore it's not crowded at all. It's your shelf of treasures that can't be bought.

Blessings,
Sandi

The shelf is really nice. I love your wall color. You painted a blue hutch a little while back--what brand of paint did you use and what color?

I love how you did it. The lace and all. I see your cute little button wreath on there. Looks just like a picture in a magazine.

Hi Cindy:
I love the shelf your dad made. He is pretty talented at woodworking I think. Before I got to the part where you said it was a little crowded, I was thinking "look how many things she has on it and how good it looks" maybe thats why my shelves don't look as good...not enough stuff.
I wish I had saved baby things from when my kids were little.
It all looks great together.

How sweet! Can a shelf be too crowded? Or a photo album too full? You are so lucky to have pieces like that from you dad. Too cool.

Well Cindy, that is just precious! I love everything you have on it, for it has a history that is special to you. The lace just adds the final touch.

My daddy used to make shelves to sell at the flea market and I'd end up with them too! Now he is gone and the little shelves make me think of him.

Cindy,

How sweet that shelf looks with all of your treasures on it. My dad made me one when I was little and it was upolstered in pink leather. He was an upolsterer for diners and such. I loved that little shelf. :)
