The flowers are from my garden. I'm always surprised at the big flower arrangements I can get out of a small garden!
Update on the dining room table: I finally got my rose appliques for the chairs (click here). It took about 2 weeks because Federal Express delivered the package to the wrong address and then they took a few days to go back and pick it up and then it took another 6 days before they delivered it to me!!! I was FED UP with FED EX!!! Oh well.. I glued them on the chairs Tuesday night and painted them last night! They look great! I ordered some more for my hutch. I'm also thinking about painting the inside of my hutch light blue. I think it will make my dishes show up better. I guess if I don't like it I can just paint it white again!
That's a really pretty teapot. I know what you mean about the flower. I have roses and hydrangeas I can pick for my home.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the appliques on the chairs.
Ciao
Glenda
I just love your enthusiasm! I'm not a paint-it-white person, but I thoroughly enjoy your projects and pics. I am a gardener though, and I love your little "compact" cottage garden. You're so sweet to let us all peek so often. I've just begun to share with the world -- you've inspired me these past few months. Come by and see me at wisteriaandroses.blogspot.com : )
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteThat was so nice of her and your flowers look beautiful. I clicked over to look at your rose app., they are going to be so pretty and your chairs remind me of mine and I love mine. Can't wait to see them with the roses on them!

Isn't it nice to receive unexpected gifts???!!! I've received so many I've had to be creative in where to put them all. I'm blessed and spoiled beyond measure. You are definitely a woman after my own heart, little kumquat!! Love all your ideas!!

I just love visitin' with you, we have so much in common, I love to paint everything either white or pink and scuff it. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with me. Hugs, RoseMarie

ReplyDeleteCindy, Beautiful teapot-what a nice gift! Your flowers are beautiful as well. I love the combination of colors. Diane, Pinecones and Roses
ReplyDeleteI get so inspired everytime I look at your blog. I am off to rearrange my hutch now!
ReplyDeleteThat is an adorable teapot Cindy. I went and visited Sabrina, it so nice to get a welcome party when you first start blogging. Can't wait to see the chairs and a light blue would look really good on the back wall.
ReplyDeleteBonnie
Beautiful teapot! I love the idea of blue on the inside of the china cabinet.
ReplyDeleteCindy,
ReplyDeleteThe teapot is beautiful, what a nice friend! and the flowers from your "small" are georgous. so it proves it's better to have a small garden than to not have a garden at all.
wow-I would of been fed up with fed ex also. but u got the appliques and I'm sure the chairs look beautiful.
about the hutch-why don't u put blue scrapbook papper in the back first and see how u like it? so u don't have to paint and then paint again? this way u just pull it off?
cant wait to see the finished chairs. : )
What a sweet gift and your flowers are beautiful! I can't wait to see how your appliques look on the back of your chairs too and hope you also post a picture of the smaller mirror. I agree with Row about putting some paper in your hutch first to see if you like it before painting.

Beautiful teapot. What a sweet gift. Can't wait for pics of the dining room.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the gift! My colors! My neighbor was over yesterday and I showed her many, many of your photos on your blog. She was enchanted!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
How beautiful! What a sweet gesture :)
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to see your chairs!

What a nice surprise and how beautiful! I can't wait to see how the appliques and your hutch turn out. I've been reading your blog for a short while and you've inspired me to take the leap into blogdom. I'm just getting started and feel a little unsure, but I think it will get easier. Feel free to visit and make suggestions. I am always open to comments. You can find me at countrylivinginindiana.blogspot.com
ReplyDeletewhat a sweet gift:0 lovely lovely :)
ReplyDeleteRegarding the hutch; I say go for it. I purchased a antique pine hutch that the inside was already painted a pale blue. It does show case my blue and white dishes to the max.
ReplyDeletePretty Pretty teapot! My blog is not
ready for the public yet. I am woking on it though.
Good job... more pretty pictures

I was just searching for romantic homes and ran across your blog. I love your taste. Your apartment is beautiful. I am getting ready to redecorate a room and found many great ideas.

ReplyDeleteI think the blue idea is grand!
How incredibly sweet of Sabrina to send you the teapot!!! It really is pretty and will look perfect in your hutch!!
ReplyDeleteI was curious where you buy your appliques? I was looking at some from The Bella Cottage, but I wasn't sure if that was considered a good price or not since I've never bought them.
I'm HOPING that I'm getting a hutch delivered to me on Saturday!!! Ever since I moved into my apartment two years ago I've been searching Craig's List for a hutch that's similar to the style of yours. I've seen lots of hutches over the two years but never the style that I wanted or the right price. I found one, and the woman is willing to sell it to me for $75 instead of $100 which is great since I have to pay to have it moved because I have nobody to help me. :-(
BUT, I can't wait to get it!! Once I do I'm going to be visiting your blog for directions on how to paint furniture in the cottage style because it will be my first painting experience EVER!!
Can't wait to see if you decide to paint the inside of your hutch blue or not. I know you live in an apartment, and I was wondering if your landlord lets you paint the walls and stuff? I've been trying to get permission for two years to do that, too.
Hugs,
Michele

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful teapot and a very special gift!
ReplyDeleteI painted the inside of my china cabinet red because I have red antique dishes. I love the results and the dishes definitely pop! I know yours will look great!
I love the mirrors below- that big one is incredible with how decorative it is!
And that chandelier- oh my! I wouldn't get rid of it either! It is so beautiful and I love how it not only has the hanging prisms but the strings of swagged, beaded prisms! What a steal!
