Those of you that have been reading my blog awhile may remember this photo from last year. I also had put this on HGTV's Rate My Space about the same time and yesterday I got this email: My name is xxxxx, I am a Producer for HGTV's new upcoming show, "Rate My Space." This show is based on the website, which I know you are already familiar with. We found your outdoor room a good possibility for an Inspiration Location, or in other words, someone who got it right!!
There is more to the email but I'm not sure how much I should share. I'll be talking to the Producer on Friday to find out more about this.
Earlier this week Rue posted that she got this same email and I was so excited for her. I never expected it to happen to me too! According to Rue, I would have to appear on TV if I choose to do this. AGHHHH....it's out of my comfort level but I'll do it.
I even stopped at Home Depot on my way home from work yesterday and bought a huge box of Miracle Grow! It's time to get this garden in tip-top shape! Actually I think it looks a lot better now than when this photo was taken last year but I still have some work to do!
I let you know more after I talk to the Producer tomorrow!

ReplyDeleteOh, this is so exciting, Cindy! I was disappointed Rue declined HGTV's offer but I certainly understand. I'd probably feel the exact same way. I'm so glad you are considering it. No matter what you chose to do, it is a huge honor to be asked and I'm excited and happy for you. Can't wait to hear more details!

ReplyDeletetraci, it comes off and I wash it. We don't usually get any rain here all summer. Actually I don't have it any longer because it got a huge hole in it but now I'll have to make another one.

ReplyDeleteThe "being on TV part" would be daunting! Several people from my office have beem on "Carter Can" in the last few months...one even sang a bit...they were nervous, but it ended up being just fine (yes, we teased them, I have to be honest...)but they said it wasn't at all as bad as they thought it would be.

Anonymous: to answer your question...that cover is just an old sofa slipcover that was so worn out so I cut it apart and just laid a portion over the cushion I had on there. I tucked in the edges and let the ruffle hang down. It ended up getting a hole in the middle of it from so much washing. I think I'm going to make a new one soon.

It's fun for all of us to know someone who is almost famous. You should consider tring out for that design star show they have. You'd be great at it!

I hope you and your daughter are feeling better. The same thing happened to me some years ago after eating a burger at another famous chain. So, so sick!
