This project has been a long one but patience is paying off, it's starting to fill in pretty good now. Most of these mirrors started off as gold plastic frames that I've painted white and most were under $5. They really bring a lot of light to a dark staircase and a lot of character to a 1960-something apartment.
Just LOVE it!!! It´s absolutely beautiful!!

Hi Cindy - I love your mirrored staircase too. Mine is mirrored in a different way, I have mirrors on the back of each step... it looks like the staircase is floating. Surpringly they're easy to maintain... they've been there for over 30 years.

Cindy:
ReplyDeleteLove the idea. I might try something like that too.

You have a beautiful blog! Such great ideas! I will visit often! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI have a similar staircase and went back and forth between mirrors and pictures and pictures won. It's a wonderful space to fill.
ReplyDeleteCindy it looks fabulous

They're beautiful, Cindy! Isn't it amazing what some time and a can of white paint will do? I love all the different shapes....Donna
ReplyDeleteWow I remember when you just started it! It's looking really pretty! I just love that big mirror with the scrolly things on the side!

This is one of my favorite ideas of yours. It looks so lovely.

I love your mirrored staircase. After looking at your mirrors I could just kick myself for not keeping all the mirrors and old picture frames that had been in my parents home. There were some that had belonged to my grandparents also. At least I was smart enough to hang on to some pretty vintage china, silver and some beautiful furniture.
ReplyDeleteCindy,
ReplyDeleteThey may have one in May as well, but they aren't for sure on that.
If you want to go together in June, I'll let you know. It would be great to meet you and go on a road trip to Healdsburg.

Wow, your wall is looking great. My favorite mirror is the oval with all the drippy stuff on it.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!!! And such a great price, too...

Hi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely idea. I would have never thought to take those gold framed mirrors and do something like this (white!). The result is lovely. We also have a very dark stairway - I've used antique mirrors around our front room and love it as it really opens up a small room. Great post, love all the different shapes and sizes.

Hey,
ReplyDeleteI just saw you may be meeting Glenda in June - I'll be there. Cathleen's a friend of mine. Hope to see you there, Cindy.

Cindy, love it that you painted all those mirrors white! It looks awesome, I plan on doing that will the wall in my vaulted entry...I will have to refer back to yours for continued inspiration as I find one mirror at a time.

Loved the Tips for a Better Life - thanks so much for sharing Cindy.
ReplyDeleteYour latest projects look great - the stairway is really attractive with the light reflecting mirrors. When you have heavy ones what do you use to hang 'em - those special mirror hooks that make big holes, or regular type 'bulldog' hooks?
Gorgeous roses - mine are just starting to bud!
So beautiful and a great collection. There must be so many stories behind those old mirrors, the things they've seen! Great blog! Suzy
ReplyDeleteOh my this is just beautiful. I have a thing for mirrors and this takes the cake.
ReplyDeleteI wandered over from The Feathered Nest by chance and just had to say something about your lovely wall "O" mirrors.
Smiles,
Becky
A beautiful decoration!
ReplyDeleteI want to make the same deco in my house: a wall with a lot of mirrors!
Hugs from Argentina!
What a wonderful collection of mirrors. They do such wonderful things to a home, they add brightness, glamour, they help to enlarge a room..I just love them.
ReplyDeleteCindy,
ReplyDeleteThat wall has really come a long ways. So clever to see past the ugly plastic frames and so much lighter to hang too! Have a great weekend..can't believe it is here already. I seem to still be running on California vacation time and don't remember what day it is, LOL.

ReplyDeleteI love mirrors. Thank you for the fantastic idea... All of it.
ReplyDeleteAnd especially the part... that they were not expensive frames. And you make them great, by painting them white.
