A new project!

Seriously, I think I have a furniture addiction! I saw this table at the Salvation Army and I couldn't just walk away. I HAD to buy it! $59 seemed like a good price, I wouldnt' say it was a great price but it was good. Guess what I'm going to do to it...yep...paint it white! Actually I've already painted it white. Now I need to do the fun part, shabby chic it up! I'll be using the glazing technique I told you about on Monday. The plan is to finish this up this weekend!
It's not an antique, it has a Bombay Company sticker underneath.

I don't know how all this furniture is fitting in my 900+ square foot apartment but it is!

Spell check is not working on blogger lately so please ignore any typos!

It's a great table. I only wish I had seen it before you.
I had been looking for a table like that for my landing on my staircase, and have not been able to find one in any thrift shop.
What a find. And I guess I really do need to go to your town to find all the great things people don't want.

  11. Can't wait to see it finished. I haven't been able to check your blog daily like I usually do. I'm recovering from my knee surgery, and it hurts to sit at the computer for too long of a time. But I did catch up today. I'm sure you'll find the a perfect spot for this table when it's done. And, wow, that china cabinet! You would have needed a lot more space for it...

  13. It's because you are getting ready for that dream cottage for all your lovely furniture to fit in.
The table will be perfect for your home ....once it gets the Cindy touch..
Thanks for stopping by my blog... I have to say your parents have more stamina than I do... that is amazing that they would sell at a Flea Market well into their 70s.

  15. Cindy,
I am in a stage of "paint it white" too! I am loving how it all contrats with my dark blue sofa! I love this table, and it sounds like you got a great deal at $59 if it is from Bombay. I am sure it was much more pricey when first purchased.

  17. Cindy:

I think I'm going to call you "Cindy the Shabby Chic blogger" when I speak of you to my friends. You rock Cindy, and of course I can't think of anything other than "white" for that adorable table....I need to take a trip to your town and shop where you shop.

    Affectionately,

  20. Cindy - I've been catching up with your recent posts. What a very special lady you are. The help you gave that poor lady was so kind - people really need to do more acts of random kindness then this world would be a much better place!

Thanks for the glazing tips - your cherub is so cute - know your table will turn out great too. I'm busy painting and now distressing the guest room bed - hope it's going to look good!

Thanks for being you and sharing your stories.
    Hugs - Mary.

  25. Cindy, this table is fabulous! The curved lines and carved detail are just beautiful. I can relate to the furniture addiction because I think I have it too! Just before Christmas I bought a sofa table from Craigslist for $40.00 and a very cool drop-leaf end table from a consignment store for $30.00. Haven't had a chance to paint them yet because a shoulder problem has had me laid up for the last 5 weeks but soon...I hope. Can't wait to see yours all wonderful in white!

  26. I love the table, and probably would have paid the same for it. Can't wait to see the after pictures, PLEASE post!

  27. I don't think $59 is bad at all. Yes, there is always someone who finds these things on the roadside - but many more people pay full price. Great find!

  28. Good Lord Woman! You are the luckiest person I know at finding treasures. I could hit every thrift store in town and find nothing but junk.

  29. I must have that same addiction too! I love your new table, especially after it gets "the Treatment". I had never looked on Craig's List until I read your blog and guess what? I found a great armoire! Thanks for the inspiration, your house is lovely!
    I'm a "blue" girl too!
