After I came back from my trip to Martha's Vineyard (Summer 2006) I was constantly doing eBay searches for "Martha's Vineyard" I bought some really old postcards and this plate. I just love this plate!
This Boston souvenir plate was my first. I bought it at the flea market after my very first trip to New England in the late 80s.
I would love to add to this collection. I wonder if there was one made for Nantucket? That would be a great find! eBay here I come!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. I may not be posting again until Monday.
UPDATED: There is a Nantucket plate on eBay but it's up to $25 and it still has 4 days left!
That's a perfect thing for you collect! Every now and then I see some at the thrift store - I'll keep you in mind.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!

I know what you mean about New England. I prefer the Pacific Northwest weather, but sigh...the antiques, the charm... The plates are lovely! Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteHave been visiting your site since you appeared on RMS home page becuase I love blue & antiques like you. Have you ever visited the web site for the Flow blue International collectors club. Ought to check it out if you love blue and porclain pottery. It will knock your socks off! That covered bridge on that plate is just around the corner from my house!!I believe it is actually the longest covered bridge anywhere.

ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteBeing from New England (Boston Area) I can appreciate these great plates. I have not seen any around myself, but I'll keep you posted if I see any. I once found some plates with churches on them. I bought about 4 at a yard sale, then I sold them on eBay. I just didn't know what to do with them at the time! ~Laura
LOL! Cindy you crack me up! So with all those mirrors on your stair wall...would that be more like an 'obsession' then...lol!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your different plates! I just picked up 12 "mystery" plates at an auction by Minton/Tiffany & Co that I need to stash away with all the others! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteNew England winters aren't so bad. You get to wear and collect some great stylish coats and scarfs! Plus Martha's Vineyard is so close that you can get there for a weekend quite often. I don't think I could take your earthquakes.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun collection (mmm- three things begins a collection- what great info!!) Hope you get the Nantucket plate- how wonderful next to Martha's Vineyard!
ReplyDeleteblessings,
kari & kijsa
What a beautiful collection of plates. I'm always drawn to blue things.. Hope you had a wonderful holiday. Michelle
ReplyDeleteHello Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI have an old blue and white plate that says "Along The New England Coast" on it. There are several pictures around the edge and a lobster in the middle. I am trying to sell it at our church fair for $35.00. Are you interested? If so, let me know and I can send you pictures!
Thanks,
